We love the Kimpton brand and we love this unique hotel in a historic large building that used to be a Assurance Company building. It has been lovingly converted into a hotel initially known as The Principal before the Kimpton group took over 7-8years ago we believe. Don’t miss the manager’s social hour every evening for free drinks.

Stayed at kimpton many times always loved it when in in Manchester close to Oxford train station, great location for getting around Manchester. Sadly this visit we were a little disappointed as our room was close to a cupboard that room service use for dirty dishes and left over food we reported 3 times as it was smelling, it was definitely there from Saturday morning if not before but it was still there at 11am Monday morning

This hotel is absolutely freezing. No heating in the room and it is -2 degrees outside. They gave me a portable heater and it is not heating the room. They are unhelpful and rude. Multiple other guests have reported the Same problem today. They won’t move us. Do not stay here. No solutions offered. Won’t move us to a different hotel in the group or a different room.

Took my mum for a treat and for her to reminisce. wow!! We were not disappointed, it was a fantastic stay. The Building and architecture is stunning, huge tall ceilings and windows. Beautiful tiles everywhere, elegant dining and meeting rooms. Our room was fab, two double beds, lovely free snack box, posh teas and coffees. We loved the 5pm social hour, a chance to mingle with the other guests and an hour of free drinks and snacks. Breakfast was also great, it was extremely busy as the hotel was fully booked the night before so I did feel the staff were overstretched and there was a wait for fresh eggs and tea / coffee… but hey we were in no rush. Just beautiful… can’t wait to go again.

Beautiful hotel in a great central location. The staff check in to see if you need anything and our room was spacious and had some really stunning features. We travelled by train from London via Sheffield the journey was horrendous. Over crowded, delayed most of the stations lifts were out of order would never travel by train again !

If you’re looking to unwind as a couple, this is the place. The spa facilities were top-notch, and the couples' massage was the highlight of our trip. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, and the breakfast in bed was a wonderful treat. Pure relaxation
