Mercure Venezia Marghera

This hotel could easily get five stars from us. Good location. There is a bus line, line 6, which is located close to the hotel and which runs every 20 minutes, which takes you from the hotel and brings you back for 20min. The price of the stay is significantly lower from the hotel prices in Venice. The hotel is also designed in a modern design and is new - as opposed to the Venetian style, for those of you that it matters. The rooms are spacious and pleasant overall, the soundproofing is excellent. The hotel is quiet. The breakfast is good and the breakfast staff provide excellent service, truly exceptional service. Especially Nicoletta, a constant smile, service given with joy, out of care - Nicoletta gets six stars. The service of the reception staff is also excellent, and in general the service of the staff is good. The cleanliness is good. Overall a good hotel. But what? If you need an extra pillow or blanket - none available. The children were given a double blanket and when we asked for another blanket they said it was not possible because there are currently no maids (we arrived around 10pm). The same goes for additional pillows that we asked for and did not receive throughout our stay (4 nights). The hotel has rooms that are connected by a door - so it is very suitable and convenient for families. We asked for one room with a double bed and one room with separate beds, when we arrived at night, we got two rooms with a double bed arrangement. There are no double beds in the hotel (at least we didn't get one) single beds are connected with a sheet, who cares. Likewise, the doors of the connected rooms - not only could they not be locked to allow parents privacy, they also could not be closed. They left them for us with the closing tab open - so it was impossible to close the doors. In addition, the bathroom in the master bedroom is really dangerous, there is no support for getting out of it - and getting out of it is challenging. Specifically in this bathroom - the emergency line does not work... if you have difficulty walking and moving - ask for a room with a shower, not a bathtub. I think a hotel needs very little effort - to become an excellent hotel. Greater attention to detail and a greater supply of blankets and pillows.

Venice Garden House

Marghera|0.73km from city centre
*Location: 30 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes to Piazzale Roma(Bus 6/6L €1.50)to and from Piazzale Roma take bus 6L from Piazza Mercato which is 2 minutes from the room or bus 6 from San Antonio bus stop(5 minute walk) you've got the option to take the tram to the bus/train station too. Lots of bars/restaurants and a Lidl supermarket nearby. Right on your doorstep is Pizzeria Tony Bonincontro(just amazing with affordable prices). Walking distance to the train station(15 minutes) bus station(20 minutes). *Room: You'll stay in a room sharing a flat/apartment. It's got a communal fridge and a shared bathroom with shower gel. Unfortunately, the room smells of cigarette, and this must be addressed ASAP as it wasn't pleasant despite having the windows opened. Other than that it's got a small tv but in an angle that's not in front of you but we used this only a couple of times as we were leaving very early and coming back late(only italian channels). The room was big with a squeaky bed and you can hear everything from the other rooms. Shutters that were really good to block out any light from the road. Not so good pillows and again the smell of cigarettes was strong. *Check-in/out: We had to call the person in charge and he came to show us the room and give us the keys. On our checkout we left the keys inside the room. You've got to pay €4 per person per night in cash on your arrival. Tips: Download the AVM Venezia official APP and buy a 24/48/72 hour transport pass that allows you to use waterboats(Vaporetto), buses, tram in Venezia. I would recommend this room for it's location and price.

I stayed with my family a couple of nights. We start from the positive aspects: - the structure is a bit date, but all is discreetly cured; - good the availability of Mr Gerardo (very available in giving information on the case) ; - located near a tobacco shop where you can buy bus/vapore tickets; - bus stop (line 6L and line 6) are 200/400 meters ... both bring to Piazzale Roma; - after the closure time reception you can access with a badge Dedicated (opens the car/port inlet); - room and bathroom quite large (it is comfortable). Negative aspects ... In fact, better not very positive (it is small but I prefer to highlight them): - the shower has no closure with the sliding antennas (it is only equipped with two fixed antennas on the sides, Unfortunately, the water goes to the floor of the bathroom, but there is fortunately the waste that allows ”disposal”); - unsubstituted bathroom towels (I am not used to, for fairness and respect to those who make the room, to leave them on the ground. I had put them ”explained” above the toilet) at first, and just talking to Mr Gerardo I had been integrated; - lack of breakfast, unfortunately, within the structure you cannot do. Fortunately, a bar with a friendly staff is located just a few meters (10 numbers). Here you can eat from bread to croissant and drink from cappuccino to orange sprinkling. I must say that the title of the review can be there, therefore: recommended.

Hotel Roma

The hotel is a very good choice for visiting Venice if you don't want to pay a pasture by staying on the same island. The hotel staff is very pleasant in the reception and breakfast where there is always a blonde woman who smiles every hour, it is good to take care of you like that. The bus stop is three minutes walking. And in fifteen or less you are on the Rome square of Venice.

Antica Villa Graziella

This is a clean and nice hotel. 10 minute walk to the train, short ride in to Venice. Not fancy, but no complaints. Breakfast was nice. The courtyard is cute, if the weather is nice you can have breakfast outside. Not too far from the train station and restaurants. Grocery store right next door.
Casa Villa Gardenia

A lovely gem of a hotel. Loved staying here and would not hesitate to return. Lovely big ceilings, sparkling clean rooms & bathrooms and a filling breakfast. We were checked in by the nicest gentleman who spoke excellent English but was prepared to talk to me in my pathetic Italiano. The rooms have a kettle, teas, coffee and biscuits etc. A mere 4 minute max walk to station if you are walking slowly. The trains to Venice are very frequent and cost less than €2.00 Big tip: when you come to the hotel by train you will come into Mestre station. whatever you do, don’t go up the stairs to exit rather follow the signs towards “Ulloa”. We went out the upstairs exit and got really lost. We crossed over but That side of the train tracks is to be absolutely avoided! So when you arrive at the station stay down below. Once you come up the ramp to the street the hotel is on your left hand side around 150 metres. If that gate is shut then turn left at the corner and you will have the front of the hotel on your left just a few metres away.
