The rooms are clean and comfortable...the staff are nice and helpful but...and it's a big but...as you enter the car park from the road the pot holes are that big you could sleep in them ...and the fag ends outside the entrance and on the grass are in the hundreds!..I come about 3 times a year and it's been like this for years...I'm surprised no one from the higher end of management doesn't read these reviews and put things right because I'm not the only one who has bought these problems up..

Only stay here if you need an overnight break from driving and don't need any food. Although the site looks unwelcoming on arrival our vehicle did not suffer any vandalism.

Area is a closed service station but the hotel is clean and tidy with friendly staff. Rooms had everything needed and no issues

Although this hotel is out of the city and the surroundings are untidy due to other closed buildings this hokey offers a great nights sleep with friendly and helpful staff and an impeccable accommodation.

The hotel is in a derelict fuel station site. Site and hotel in poor state. The site without a doubt is subject to antisocial behaviour and the rundown state of the hotel only adds to the awful overall review of this hotel.

We received a warm welcome from Karen in Reception and also the heating was already on in our room as we arrived ,which was great on a cold day outside. Our room was clean and spacious and our bed was extremely comfortable. Our view was of fields at the back of the hotel which was much better than the car park at the front. The hotel was quiet and despite having to go out in our car to find places to eat locally ,we will definitely stay there whenever we are in the area. Many thanks to all of the pleasant and efficient members of staff.

The accommodation itself was fine, as always with Travelodge, and it was very reasonably priced.. but the location - a derelict service area off the M1 - was like something out of 28 Days Later. Not an inviting place to arrive at late at night.

I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. I arrived in the dark and the car park was lit really poorly. I did not feel safe here as it looked run down. Pot holes in the car park, poor lighting, taped off entrance steps. The room was very tired and door lock and handle were loose. It was quiet - very quiet. I'd ordered breakfast online, and should have been a bit more observant, as it came in a box. There is no breakfast room. On departure in the light, I saw that the hotel was next to two derelict buildings and that the vegetation is starting to reclaim the land.
