"Our family of two adults and four teenagers (aged 15–18) spent two nights at Villa Kiva, and it was an absolutely wonderful stay. From the very first moment, we were made to feel so welcome and genuinely cared for. The service was exceptional in every way. We joined the village walk, where we learned about the daily lives of the local community and had the opportunity to visit a school. It was a truly beautiful and memorable experience. We also wanted to explore the reef during low tide. The hotel kindly lent us reef shoes and arranged for a local guide to accompany us. He safely guided us across the reef and back while entertaining us with songs and his joyful spirit, making the experience even more special. The food was also delicious, and every meal was something to look forward to. We only wish we could have stayed longer! We truly hope to come back one day. Thank you to everyone at Villa Kiva for making our stay so unforgettable. You are amazing!"

"If you're looking for a complete reset, a relaxing retreat with a relaxed, comfortable, and elegant atmosphere, this place is for you! The hotel is just three steps from the beach, beautifully designed, nestled in stunning greenery, and offering delicious cuisine. The owner, managers (kisses especially to Ania), and all the staff are incredibly helpful, striving to fulfill every guest's "whim" and helping to resolve any issues, always smiling and competent. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, elegantly furnished, and equipped with everything you need. They're cleaned daily and additionally sprayed with mosquito and insect repellent in the evenings. There's a wonderful swimming pool and comfortable loungers – the area is covered with fine sand, making walking barefoot a pure pleasure."

"As soon as you pass through the entrance gate you enter a green oasis with several swimming pools, very smiling staff, very warm owners. An upgrade allowed us to enjoy the bungalows overlooking the swimming pool in which, despite the absence of air conditioning, the temperature remained acceptable. Very spacious room apart from an odor rising from the septic tank (which had to be resolved since the owners were very responsive). On foot you can access a pretty, uncrowded beach (at high tide). The most practical is to rent a car to access muyubi and mnemba in less than 10 minutes or to nungwi and kendwa in 40 minutes. The establishment is very clean, the food is good (varied breakfast and good quality dinner at a fair price) the cocktails are good and some evenings there are also very nice concerts. A good, quiet address for exploring the northwest and east."

"This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. We booked our stay ten months in advance and paid in full eight months before our arrival, yet it was nothing short of a disaster from the moment we arrived. Upon arrival, the manager failed to greet us properly. Instead, we were directed to sit on the sofas in the reception area without any explanation. It wasn’t until 1.5 hours later that we learned—from other guests in the same situation, not the staff—that our room had been overbooked. We were then shuttled to a half-finished hotel that didn’t come close to the standards of the hotel we had originally booked. We were assured this was a temporary arrangement and that we’d be moved to a villa near the booked hotel the next day. However, the following day we were taken to yet another substandard, half-finished building. This one had two small rooms with beds, an empty fridge, and little else. It felt as though the staff from the downstairs restaurant had been hastily evicted to make space for us. The building was infested with flies, lacked basic amenities like drinking water, towels, air conditioning, toilet paper, and WiFi, and appeared incomplete. The shower didn’t work, and there was even a man sleeping in the backyard. Worse still, it wasn’t anywhere near the hotel we had booked. Compensation wasn’t offered until we explicitly asked for it, and even then, all we received was free food for two days at the hotel. The service at the restaurant was slow, and our orders were frequently wrong. The food itself was mediocre at best. That said, the restaurant staff were very kind and welcoming, which was one of the few positives. When we finally got our room, there were no twin rooms available, so we had to settle for a double bed. While this was fine, the entire experience left a sour taste. The pool area was lovely, and the other guests were pleasant, but these were small comforts in an otherwise dreadful stay. This hotel has great potential, but based on our experience, it’s far from meeting even basic standards. I would not recommend it."

"This is a worst hotel in all of Zanzibar island. I am a Travel agency based in Arusha , Tanzania. This year I booked an accomodation for two french tourists for 8 days in this hotel Zanoceanique but they stayed only two nights and decided to shift to another hotel because this hotel , the bed mattress was very hard , my clients said they had an impression sleeping on a wooden board. They only slept 3 hours . Breakfast was not good there was not even a jam for breakfast . When they shifted to another hotel , I asked for refund for the days that my clients didn't stay but they refused to refund me while I have already paid back my clients 500 € . I reported them to the authority of Zanzibar but they still didn't refunded me. "
