This is my second time staying at the Awa-no-yu Hotel. I stayed there for one night last year and felt very good. I checked Ctrip and saw that there were 2 nights available, so I booked it 3 months in advance without hesitation. We took the tram from Matsumoto Station to Shin-Shimajima Station, and then took the bus to the hotel, which was quite convenient. It's just that the cost of travel has increased now. Last year, the tram and bus cost 2250 yen, and you can buy the tram + bus ticket directly from Matsumoto Station. Now you have to buy the tram from Matsumoto Station for 710 yen, and then buy the bus ticket for 2500 yen after arriving at Shin-Shimajima. The hotel distribution map is for your reference. There are no toilets and washrooms in the rooms in the main building. I suggest you book the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the new building. The rooms are quite large and the conditions are very good. The hotel's hot springs and meals are quite good, and the service staff are also very enthusiastic. After we checked in, we caught up with a heavy snowfall. It was so enjoyable to soak in the hot springs in the snow! Although the hotel is in the deep mountains, there are flowers decorated in many places, which is very stylish. The facilities are relatively old and look very old. But I believe that the guests who come here are here to experience the famous mixed bathing. The temperature of Shirahone Onsen is 37-41, which is not very hot. But after taking a bath, the frozen shoulder is relieved a lot.

I booked the new building but it was actually the old building. Avoid it. It is better to book directly on the hotel's official website. You will not make mistakes in the room type and it is cheaper. The room type issue made me and the hotel very embarrassed. It was really embarrassing to the whole country. The hotel itself is good, the hot spring is very refreshing, and I will visit again.

I was very worried when I read the comments section before coming here. It is very good for a hot spring hotel in the mountains to have such service and quality. We originally booked two days, but later directly extended our stay with the hotel for one day. The hot spring is very comfortable. It is normal to have some sediment in the natural hot spring water. There is no problem if there are some leaves in the open-air hot spring. The food was very good, I couldn't finish it by myself. Overall, it was very good. In addition, it happened to snow heavily on the day I extended my stay, which was great👏

I really like this hotel...especially their outdoor public soup...it's so charming...the white bone hot spring with snow scenery...it's refreshing...it's the number one hotel in my self-driving trip to Japan...I think I will visit again soon here
