A relaxing break for 2 nights. We had a package B&B and one evening meal. The food in the restaurant was lovely we had a very enjoyable meal and breakfast was relaxed with a great view of the bay. The hotel was just on Monday as it was a bank holiday , on Tuesday it was lovely and peaceful. The bar was very quiet on Tuesday evening we enjoyed a drink there. They have a very well equipped leisure centre and it’s a great central point to enjoy Achill, Mullranny and Wild Nephin.

Our stay at the Mulranny Park Hotel was far from the relaxing weekend getaway we had hoped for. We arrived expecting a peaceful time with our kids and one on the way, this was not the case. When we checked into our room, I found it odd that the sofa bed wasn't made up, and there were no blankets, but I figured it was something we could handle later. We also noticed a significant gap in the window, making the room quite cold. We went out for dinner and I decided I’d mention the window issue at reception. The receptionist was pleasant and said maintenance would be available the next morning at 9:30, though there was nothing they could do that night, which I accepted. When we returned to the room and tried to open the sofa bed, my husband couldn’t manage it. At this point, the blinds were banging against the window due to the draft. I called reception again, and the duty manager, along with another staff member, came up with blankets. It took both of them to get the sofa bed open, only to find it was broken. We also showed them the window issue, and to stop the blinds from banging, we had to wedge boots against them. The duty manager apologized, said it was embarrassing for them, and offered to move us the next day, which we agreed to. The next day, we moved rooms, and initially, everything seemed fine. However, later that night, water started leaking from the spotlights, flooding the room. At this point, we had truly had enough. The receptionist asked me to send photos and videos to the general manager, which I did. She even mentioned, when we checked out, that she had no words to express how bad the situation was. We paid in full, hoping the general manager would contact us, but after several emails and a phone call, all we received was a vague response saying they would investigate. No apology, no acknowledgment of the issue. This was in February. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of acknowledgment from General Manager Paul regarding how unacceptable this experience was. When my husband called, he was told we needed to appreciate that the hotel was housed in a 200-year-old building. While we understand that, we did not pay for substandard, unacceptable rooms.

I had extremely high expectations for this hotel, which were sadly let down as a result of the state of the room we stayed in… Myself and my partner had booked a room with a view in the Mulranny Park Hotel last month, and I’ve been so sad thinking about our experience. At the time I felt uncomfortable to report to staff the hygiene and quality of our room, particularly as the customer experience wasn’t especially welcoming. Upon entering our room, we noticed how cramped it really was. Room size aside, we took in the beautiful view, which we had to pay extra for. When the novelty had worn off, we started to realise the dust, stains and poor quality of the room. Below the desk, was orange stain made from presumably a past guest. Around the ceilings, lights and windows, dust was hanging. A lot of dust. The part we found so strange, was the state of the bathroom. Little to no shower gel left for us, an almost black shower floor, strangely covered up windows with wallpaper and glue. I won’t take the time to say all that was wrong with the room, but these alone are enough to disappoint a lying customer after travelling hours to Mulranny. Another note, we had additional breakfast in our stay. This was fine, a continental breakfast, however mouldy bread is not something I would appreciate with my breakfast. I felt mortified to be paying for such an experience as this one when leaving. Overall, the views in Mulranny are unforgettable, but if I was to come again, I would hope that the service and cleanliness of the hotel is to be improved.

We spent a night in one of the apartments recently . A handy spot and it was well equipped and clean . Two good sized bedrooms and a standard kitchenette. However, the check in is at 4pm and the checkout is at 11am so quite a short timeframe. Apartment wasn't available before 4pm. The hotel has a magnificent setting with beautiful views . The bar area is well laid out but the food was very average .The fish and chips was served in a gloopy yellow batter which was unusual. Breakfast was in a sunny room overlooking Mulranny Bay. The servers were all helpful, cheerful and efficient . The food was plentiful and varied.

Restaurant for lunch at hotel, not busy, limited menu but sufficient to suit most tastes. Ordered Cajun chicken wrap and fries. Can’t understand why any chef thinks hot lettuce works….. in a chicken wrap!…..really disappointing!. Tea was freezing. Laura Hill (Dublin)

Tried to order food at the bar, was told to wait for the waitress ..she appeared 10 minutes later, she took our food order and drinks order, .. again, 10 minutes later, my elderly mother had to go to the bar to ask where the drinks were ..( the waitress wasnt in site) .. as my mum was asking ..the waitress appeared...in full hearing of my mum the barmaid said to the waitress that my mum was " giving out " to her.. extremely rude...my mum didn't bother to say anything ... Our food arrived ...we had ordered " Grass fed roast beef". ...it was as tough as old Boots.. .we both left it ..the vegetables were frozen, and boring.. .carrots, green beans and cauliflower... The waitress kept walking past us . never once asked if we were ok ... I expect better from here, and won't be back ..local to me too...
