This was my second stay at Mount Falcon and my first in the main lodge. Ryan gave us a great tour of the property which has a variety of things to do without even leaving the hotel. Fishing, swimming in a heated indoor pool, a very nice spa, walking trails and an on-site driving range! Beyond the hotel, you have at least 4 terrific golf courses close by, the nice town of Ballina, Foxford Woolen Mills for excellent gifts, and the Ceide Fields visitor center and archaeological site on the beautiful north Mayo coast road. The Kitchen restaurant has been nicely redesigned and served up some delicious food for both breakfast and dinner. The rooms are comfortable and the bar is cozy. All in all, one can't fault Mount Falcon for anything- it is the kind of place you want to stay in when you come to Ireland and it doesn't disappoint.

We went in April for a special birthday treat .We had booked Afternoon Tea..Very disappointed..The coffee was in a tea pot this was the first thing that we noticed..We had to serve the tea ,coffee ourselves..Except at one point when it was noticed one of us were pouring the tea/coffee..No atmosphere in the room we were put together in…Only plain white cups and plates used..No nice tea set used or tea pots..Very disappointing experience all round sadly..Birthday treat with candle brought in just as we started our afternoon…Felt it was a tick the box and get done quickly rather than a treat for our birthday girl…

The food and the service in the restaurant and bar was excellent. We had a meal as a group and everyone complimented their food. This place has a lovely ambiance and is well maintained. I will definitely be back and will stay over next time to experience the accommodation.

From start to finish we had an amazing experience in the Mount Falcon. Starting with the picturesque location, beautiful building and friendly reception staff. Our room was so spacious and had a lovely homely feel. We took a walk around the area and it was just breathtaking. Extremely close to Ballina where we went for a drive to see around the location. Later in the evening we returned to have a top class meal in the Tom Doyle restaurant. Wow! What a meal. I am still dreaming of it since leaving. We enjoyed a drink in the boat hole bar afterwards where they had evening entertainment for all to enjoy. The spa and leisure centre was second to none. We most certainly will be back! Thank you to everyone who made our trip so special.

General dissatisfaction with reception and a waitress. No empathy with my concerns and defended their position even though they were totally wrong. Not what I wanted on a break to relax. Really has the possibility of a beautiful hotel but falls short in a number of ways. The walks are there but not highlighted or organised in any way.

We went for afternoon tea to celebrate a special occasion, giving it a 3 * review is being generous. Beautiful surroundings, and 2 friendly servers, but the food was very poor, both in quality and quantity. The scones were nice and crunchy but the sandwiches were bad petrol station quality, cheap white sandwich bread, minimal and unseasoned egg mayo, and an insipid unseasoned chicken mayo. The croissants with cream cheese and smoked salmon thrown on top were passable, though uninspiring. The little cakes were taken out of the freezer with minimal effort or flair, though it did give us a giggle trying to discern the indistinct flavours. Overall a very uninspiring visit, definitely would not recommend.

I couldn't recommend this hotel enough, from when we arrived till when we checked out we loved it. A special thank you to Aoife at reception to Sergej, Katie and Gabrielle at dinner to Daniel (true gentleman) and Sofia in the bar and finally to Olivia who introduced us to her friend Luna the owl. The whole staff made our anniversary very special Thank you!
