Mountain View International by Bon Hotels

I am okay that most hotels in Eswatini are basic. But throwing an attitude when you are already annoying the customer is just unacceptable. I had booked the most expensive room for the view although I was a solo traveler. They gave me room number 1. The wifi was so bad I had to spend most of my time in the lobby for wifi. Also mosquitoes in the room. Then I had a bottle of opened white wine I was planning to finish from my previous hotel. I ordered the largest T-bone steak and asked if I could finish my wine with the steak. It said I will even order a latte at the end I just wanted to enjoy the rest of my wine. Not allowed the mamasan said. I said come in, I am the ONLY customer in your restaurant. If I wasn’t there you’d not even make money on my T-bone steak. No. Then the electricity goes out in the hotel while I was still eating my steak. What compensation do I get for that? The t-bone was no good. This is not a fine dining restaurant by any measure. Being relaxed would have enabled this customer to enjoy the place for what it is, not for what it is not. The maitra de was just out of line. Overall the view of the valley was nothing to write home about. And yes, run down furniture as some of the previous writers have said. I could hear the traffic from my room number one. Just for not allowing me to enjoy my wine made this the worst place you can stay in eswatini. Let me not go on about the taxi fare to the airport. Rip off. I would not have minded even that if you allowed me some peace of mind to do my own thing.

We went here for drinks and diner, and the great view of course. The red wine was undrinkable and service a real hit and miss, and so slow it must break records, even in eSwatini.... The steak was good though, and the view probably the best in town.

This hotel had potential to be nicer. The grounds are vast, and beautiful views as it sits along a hill/mountainside. The rooms were very tired/outdated and had a stale smell. Some others on our trip requested a new room as a result. This was part of a tour, so no other option.

The best thing about the Mountain View is, well…the view. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was ok - nothing great, but more than adequate. The buffet had a large variety of dishes and dietary restrictions were accommodated sufficiently. The layout of the hotel is different. We walked under long covered sidewalks with lots of steps to our room. If you have mobility issues…you’ll need to be very careful. Our room was comfortable, but dated. We did notice the hotel starting to undertake renovations. So, even though the rooms are dated, you’ll be able to get a good night’s rest and take a nice, hot shower. The service commitment of the staff is exemplary. Food is ok - great (and very affordable) wine selections.

Stayed one night traveling through the area and it was a very nice hotel. Room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was great. The view was incredible- beautiful Mountain View’s all around the hotel!

We arrived in a group of 14 but it was very chaotic. A key was missing. When we were settled some of the group needed to change the room. The rooms were very old fashioned. Small bed, small room, looked not clean. Restaurant buffet was also very basic but it was good food. We had much better hotels during our trip.
