GR Comfort Hotel
Peace of Mind Rest House
"It’s a beautiful hotel! It’s really peaceful and the staff is very friendly. The owner helped me out a lot, booked the bus ticket for me since a lot of people only speak Kiswahili mainly and drove me around to the atm, bus station etc. So friendly! He said I was his guest and guests are always kings and queens for him. Very sweet! Breakfast is included and was a mix of continental and traditional very nice. Rooms were very clean. Other than that there’s not much to do in Mbeya. Just stayed there because I came with the TAZARA train from Zambia and took a bus to dar es salaam. They depart every morning around 5am and every evening around 3pm or 5pm. You have to pre book at least one day! Good bus operators are ABC Buses, Achimwene and Happy Nation. At the central bus station is the Happy nation office and the Achimwene ABC Is somewhere else…"
Hotel Desderia
"A hidden gem in Mbeya. Rooms are nice and clean, staff is attentive. The restaurant serves wonderful authentic local foods. There are some outdoor tables for an afternoon beer and even a bar with live music on Friday nights. Why there is a bar with live music is a bit odd as there are not many guests. I travel in many remote areas of the world, and can assure you this is an oasis in Tanzania. Not fancy but has what you need."
Mdope Idde Hotel
Royal Mgwasi Hotel
"This review is being done so that owner can make some changes: There were 4 guests in our party No toilet paper in one of the rooms, no answer from reception to try and rectify the problem. No towels in another room Check out times varied from 10 am 11 am 12 noon They made us vacate the room at 10 am Dinning room staff very rude and unfriendly. They badly need training. The chef did try and was friendly. The front desk staff are not welcoming at check in. The building looks relatively new and desperately needs snagging by a professional builder. The windows in some of the rooms did not close. The loud music from the disco club went on till 2 am. If you want a restful night it certainly not the place for you. The toilet in reception did not have demarcation for man and woman."
