3rd Street Flats

We travel quite a bit and were exciting for our first visit to McMinnville and our stay at the 3rd Street Flats. Management should have warned us that the floors are uninsulated wood (as pictured, wood yes, insulation, NO) as the noise level was completely unacceptable. We stayed in unit #8 which is not only next the stairwell but the voices and door slams were off the chart audible. Our room is located on the second floor and has a unit directly above it. Our upstairs and down the hall neighbors were a group of young women who had no idea that noise carried, would yell down the hall, stomp on the floors and all piled into the room above us for the afternoon. Trying to catch a nap from a horrible night's sleep was not going to happen. Even the 1:30am yakking in the toilet noises were clearly heard in our room. Our bedroom chandelier rattled every time they walk across the room. About 1 am, the group returned from a night on the town and had no self awareness that their loud voices carried or that their endless walking across the rooms sounded like a herd of Clydesdale horses. We endured two nights of the worst sleep ever which is a dangerous as we had a 3 hour drive ahead of us and were completely exhausted. I did call the front desk during the day but was told there's nothing they can do until "quiet" hours. The room wasn't the cleanest too boot. Under the kitchen sink is cringe worthy, the thick dust on the baseboards is an indicator that the rooms don't receive the level of cleaning that they should and drain the tub was also broke. We propped a spoon in the drain for our shower water to drain. I rarely write a review this long or so negatively as I respect small business owners but in this case, potential guest should know they're walking into. If you absolutely need to stay at 3rd Street Flats, book a room on the top/3rd floor.

We stayed in the 5th flat and it was extremely comfortable for our family of 4. The ceilings are high, the rooms nicely decorated and flat is well stocked (including a swivel peeler that we used for some carrots- didn't anticipate we'd need that!) Great location on the main street and easy check-in at the attached hotel. Overall, an excellent stay.

My wife and I have wanted to go to the wine area in Oregon and finally did. We decided to headquarter in McMinnville. My wife selected the 3rd Street Flats, and it was a great choice. The room we had was bigger that any hotel room in which we had stayed and better appointed. Every restaurant at which we wanted to have a meal was in walking distance, as were many winery tasting rooms. The only downside was the lack of an elevator with all rooms above the ground floor. However, that did not offset the other benefits of the location and the elegance of the room. We highly recommend this as a starting point for any Willamette trip.

3rd Street Flats are centrally located. Many restaurants, shops and tasting rooms are within a few blocks. The staff at the associated hotel were friendly and helpful. It was perfect for a wine tasting getaway with friends.

Our group of 5 girlfriends stayed at the sister property, Oddfellows Lodge which is connected to The Atticus hotel. We stayed in Flat 7 and 8. Flat 7 was a 2 bedroom with the entire flat dimly lit. We would have appreciated brighter lighting to get ready, especially in the bathroom. We found that to be dark. The service was spectacular our entire trip. We enjoyed wine in the evening outside in the courtyard. You can't ask for a better location than this hotel. And a must for sure is dining at The Cypress. Spectacular food and great service. We were so pleasantly surprised! There are bikes to rent and complimentary coffee and latte bar for us to enjoy.

We had a great weekend staying at the 3rd Street Flats with my in-laws. All of the great service and amenities of the Atticus Hotel in a two-bedroom apartment right in the heart of town. A great location and a great experience.
