Our trip to Medora was made even better by our stay at the Badlands Motel. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. One of the best features was being able to park right in front of our room—super convenient, especially when traveling with kids. The location of the motel is ideal for exploring the town and its attractions. While the Medora Musical is not within walking distance, it's just a short drive away and an absolute highlight of our trip. The show was packed with talent and offered fresh twists on Theodore Roosevelt's story. Carolynn loved the costume changes and fun songs, making it a memorable experience for the whole family. Another perk of staying at the Badlands Motel is its proximity to great dining options. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast at The Farmhouse Cafe, just a short drive away. The breakfast sandwich and fruit parfait were the perfect start to our day. Overall, the Badlands Motel offers great value for the price, with its clean, comfortable rooms and excellent location. If you're planning a trip to Medora, I highly recommend staying here. It truly made our visit convenient and enjoyable.

It's the only motel out there and we didn't feel like continuing to Wall, SD.. I wish we did. The place was loud and dirty. I imagine the locale is the only redeeming quality about the place since the staff was rude to us, too. Keep driving to Wall, SD..

The first impression, after seeing row upon row of ground level rooms in four buildings, is what kind of experience am I going to have here? This place was a pleasant surprise. I usually avoid motels because at many you can hear people in the room next to you, but that was not the case here. In fact, it was exceptionally quiet. The room was spacious, perfectly clean, comfortable, and the lady at check in was helpful and nice. There is no breakfast, but there is a place in town open early, or just bring your own. The price, given its closeness to Teddy Roosevelt National Park, was good. Senior rate at around $190 total.

The Badlands Motel is safe, comfortable, but a bit pricey for off-season (after Labor Day). The motel does not have curb appeal, and is in four separate one-story buildings. But it is comfortable, modern, safe and quiet with well-lit easy access parking off the main highway. Rooms have coded key locks with internal dead bolts. All room appliances worked. I did not try the WiFi. The motel does not offer a breakfast, but has a coffee bar in the main office area. The motel is within walking distance to downtown Medora and is next door to a well-kept water park.

This was a great place to stay. The rooms were terrific. The beds were great. I also appreciated the staff. They were nice and informative. This looks like and old motel but once you get in the rooms they are modern. The only suggestion that I have is that it would be nice to have an outdoor seating area. Other than that it is well worth the money,

Awesome motel for our stay in Medora! Rooms were super nice for a motel and very clean and well kept. Recently updated and bathroom was quite large. Plenty of room for the 4 of us and our luggage. Motel is in walking distance to all the fun sites and there are two parks close by and hiking trails. The biggest bummer was that the pool was closed the evening we arrived. Our daughter was so sad. It was open the next morning but we were leaving and she didn’t want to be wet for the car ride. Train goes through very close a few times during the night. I heard it because I was already awake but my husband did not. Would definitely stay here again!!!!

This hotel was very nice, clean and convenient to all Medora activities. An easy walk across to street for breakfast or ice cream, the Point to Point Trail is right behind hotel, all restaurants are only a few blocks walk. Beds, pillows, and towels were soft and fluffy. The shower was huge and had a bench. The smell of the lotion and shower gel were lovely.

This is my favorite place to stay however it isn’t as fancy as the Roughriders Hotel. Especially when we bring our folks, it’s nice to drive right up to their door. Bring some chairs to sit under the awning outside in the evening as well. The views are amazing

On our trip from the Black Hills to Glacier National Park, we stayed one night at the Badlands Motel in Medora. The motel is close to the entrance of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which we visited in our short stay. The check-in at motel was quick and easy and the room (2 Q beds) was quiet providing a good night’s sleep. Also, the room was very clean, very up-to-date, and spacious enough for the four of us. Rooms are ground level with parking right in front of your door. We would definitely stay again, if in the area. P.S. There is morning coffee in the lobby but no breakfast.
