Novotel Melbourne Airport

Right next to Melbourne Airport, just about a 5-minute walk—very convenient. You check in at the same location as the Ibis. The shared areas are quite nice, but the room felt a bit dirty and dusty.

The room was spacious and clean. It takes a little while to walk to the hotel from inside the airport, but there's a shuttle bus available. The shuttle bus only has one stop, so you'll need to walk to your respective terminal from there. The sink, shower room, and toilet are all in one space without individual doors or partitions, which is something to be aware of if more than one person is staying.

I highly recommend against staying here; it's not worth the price. First, guest parking is only free for 15 minutes, which isn't enough time for check-in and getting luggage up to the room. Second, the room doesn't have slippers or toothbrushes; you have to call room service for them. I called room service and waited an hour, but nothing was delivered. When it finally arrived, housekeeping just dumped the pillows and slippers I ordered right in front of the door. The pillows for sleeping and slippers for bare feet were all directly on the ground, which is extremely unhygienic. They didn't even ring the doorbell after delivery. Moreover, a 4-star hotel doesn't even provide complimentary bottled water and told me to drink tap water. There's bottled water in the mini-bar, but you have to pay extra. It's not that I can't afford a bottle of water, but I'm paying over a thousand for a hotel, and they charge extra for even one bottle of mineral water – that's truly astonishing. The bedsheets and pillows also had stains. I will never stay at a hotel under this brand again.

The hotel is located in T4. International travelers will land at T2. It's only an 8-10 minute walk to the hotel, and there are signs along the way. Due to environmental reasons, there are no slippers, toothpaste, or toothbrushes in the room, so you need to bring your own. Besides basic coffee and tea, the room also offers instant hot chocolate.

I chose to stay at this hotel because I had an early morning flight. The room was very clean and well-equipped with amenities. The staff were very kind and allowed us to check in early.

The accommodation is very close to the airport, about a 5 to 10-minute walk. However, it was raining heavily when we arrived, so we got soaked walking there. On a clear day, though, the walk would be very easy. The hotel also provides a shuttle bus service to the international terminal. The shuttle buses run on a fixed schedule and depart promptly, but the next one isn't far behind.
