YHA Melbourne Central

Not bad, I was able to check in early, and it was clean. The only thing is you have to pay to store your luggage. The location is good and convenient. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

I've stayed at YHA in Sydney before, but this was my first time at the Melbourne location. The location is quite good, and while the common areas aren't huge, the kitchen facilities are adequate. The service was also convenient. You need your card to access the restrooms upstairs, so make sure to sort out any issues before checking out. The biggest problem was the lack of lockable lockers, but I guess Australia is pretty safe. Finally, a tip for the hotel: if you see a Chinese passport, don't bother with the electronic key card; it probably won't work and just wastes time.

The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Southern Cross Station and 3 minutes from the day tour meeting point. You can get to the airport directly from Southern Cross Station via SkyBus in half an hour. Major city center attractions are all within reasonable walking distance. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and convenience stores too. I highly recommend the Malaysian restaurant in the first alley on your left when you exit – it might be the best food I've had, super cheap, generous portions, and a wide variety. Trust me, go try it! The shared bathrooms and common areas are clean and well-maintained, with the restrooms being cleaned multiple times daily. Electronic key card access is required for every door, making it very secure. The only suggestions are that the bed sheets are a bit old and pilled, and the metal bunk bed shakes a bit. There was construction nearby at night, but that's not the hotel's fault. Everything else was great, highly recommended!

The location is excellent, very close to the train station. If you're looking to join local tours that meet nearby, I highly recommend this hotel!

It's a big plus that there's a hairdryer in the shower room. There's also a convenience store nearby, and a good selection of drinks (for a fee). The front desk staff were kind, and bath towels were free. It was a comfortable stay.
