Beautiful building set up high out of Hawick. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, great food in lovely restaurant. Basic bedroom was large, well-equipped with great shower room. Cleanliness10 out of 10. Will use again.

What a lovely hotel, not far from town but far enough to serve as an escape. I was here for two nights on business, and cannot complain in the slightest. Amarone Thistle Restaurant was delightful with amazing portion sizes, and breakfast was lovely too. My company had booked me into Room 10 - wow! The staff are a real asset, especially the lady working breakfast, and the young lady who has started in the hotel working in the restaurant for dinner this week. Credits to Mansfield House! My only suggestion would be to invest in blackout blinds as it can get very bright very early during the summer months - otherwise an easy 10/10!

A good find
The hotel has a very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere - the rooms of various sizes are all stylish and the bar / restaurant was good and seemed popular with local residents (good sign). Good value for money.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were the friendliest we have ever dealt with. We got a free room upgrade upon arrival to a beautiful room with amazing views. Breakfast was fantastic. Can't recommend enough! Thank you for the lovely stay.

Absolutely blown away with this wee hotel. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Rooms and clean and tidy. Surrounded by beautiful rolling mountains. And decided to have dinner here, why not .. support local! There is a huge selection!! I had the Wagyu beef burger. And I can honestly say it's one of the best Burgers I've had to date. They have fantastic specials - pizza, pasta, burgers...... Would definitely come back 10/10 !

I have stayed here multiple times. The Mansfield has got to be the best hotel in Scotland with definitely the best breakfast menu by far. This isn't a case of being good once, but being consistently superior throughout the years when I have hosted at different times. Rooms spotless; staff always warm, welcoming and polite whether it's booking you in; taking you into breakfast or taking your dinner order in their lovely restaurant. The hotel has beautiful rooms and particular stunning ceilings downstairs. Their breakfast is second to none. From yogurts, fresh fruit, a varied range of cereals, porridge, fruit juice and iced water; wide choice of teas, jams and marmalade and of course a delicious offering of cooked breakfasts too with the accompanying selection of toasts. I have a real thing about measly numbers of butter pats on a breakfast table but that's no issue here. The butter dishes here are well stacked! A personal favourite: the kippers. They never fail to please. It's a joy to visit the Mansfield because it really is the best....a place you really don't ever want to leave!

Lovely hotel but further out of town than we had expected. Restaurant closed on first night there. Otherwise perfect for our stay.

We enjoyed a lovely meal on a lovely evening at the Mansfield House Hotel. Haddock goujons to start choice of breaded or battered. I went for the breaded, which was very nice. Followed spaghetti carbonara, nicely presented and hot. Again very nice. Couldn't resist a pudding and the tiramisu was absolutely fabulous. As good as any we had in Rome. Great service a mist enjoyable experience
