GGuest UserThe check-in experience is very good. The room is built against the mountain and has a great view. The owner is an aborigine and has a deep affection for the village. You can order meals cooked by the owner with the flavor of the Brown ethnic group and it is very delicious! The people in the village are very friendly, and the boss is very approachable. You can drink tea and chat with him, or you can take him to the surrounding mountains to really get closer to their lives.
GGuest UserA really relaxing and enjoyable stay at JiangLu Nanuoshan Mountain Inn. Scenic location nestled in the mountains, the weather here was cooler and more comfortable than in nearby Jinghong. The rooftop cafe was a great place to see the beautiful sunset each evening, and the room balcony view was also spectacular. Would recommend the morning tea hike activity, it was a great way to better understand where tea comes from and sample Pu'er tea once back at the hotel. If you are up for a longer hike (1.5 hours each way) you can also walk up the scenic mountain road to see a nearby ancient tea tree. Food was excellent, enjoyable breakfast and a variety of delicious dishes available for dinner. Hotel service was first rate, hotel staff checked in often to make sure that the room and the stay were great. Will definitely stay here again on next visit to Xishuangbanna!
GGuest UserBeautiful views greet you when you arrive. An oasis in the tea plantations promise peace and quiet. We stayed in the pool room cabin which looks lovely from the outside and has gorgeous views from the bed. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Unfortunately, the cabin is not insulated so it is freezing at night. There is an electric blanket, which is a nice touch, but the cabin itself does not heat up; a completely inadequate air con that is noisy and doesn’t really work. They gave us a tiny fan heater - equally useless. When looking carefully, you’ll notice that the place isn’t cleaned properly and there is dust everywhere. The shower leaks through to the bedroom and water pools just under a plug unit. Quite dangerous.
Despite these things, we had a nice stay. It truly is a beautiful location with several walking options. The hosts invited us to join in the roast tea celebration for Chinese new year, and they made a lovely bonfire. I suppose the biggest disappointment was that we had to pay for coffee with breakfast. Ive stayed in many many places around the world, and never been charged for a cup of mediocre coffee at breakfast. Not sure I’d rush back. Not completely value for money.
MMichroyThe best part about this hotel was the absolutely spectacular view of the surrounding maintains and valley from the spacious minimalist room and huge terrace; the sunset was among the best I’ve seen in my travels. Another highlight was the food (an extra but reasonable charge) which was plentiful, local, fresh and delicious. Be forewarned that because of the hotel’s isolated location in the mountains (about 1.5 hours from the city), there are no local restaurants or shops, so stock up on any extras/supplies before you arrive (coffee, wine, snacks included). I understand that the owners (who are very hands off) are in the tea business and have a plantation nearby, but unfortunately (perhaps due to the language difference), I wasn’t given any information about this so did not get to experience a tour. One thing that could be improved is the wifi, which was slow but adequate. I ended up extending my stay by 3 nights and spent most of my days reading on the terrace. I would recommend this inn to people looking for a quiet nature getaway.
NNihaoxiaoshangFacilities: It is a newly opened hotel, which gave me a great surprise. The room is much larger than the photo. It is very convenient to wash and dry clothes, especially since we just came back from the rainforest. We are very happy to be able to wash even wet clothes. The TV is super big. ! ! !
Hygiene: clean, tidy, bright, and free disposable toilet covers. This is what touched me very much! ! !
Environment: Along the Liusha River, there is a small garden downstairs, and there is a corridor outside the room. It is relatively out of place. The Starlight Night Market outside is a bit superfluous, but it is still relatively quiet. There is basically no noise when the balcony door is closed.
Menghai is a good place. The hotel is very conveniently located away from the main urban area of Menghai County. It is very convenient to eat!
Parking can be done underground, safe and convenient
GGuest UserI have stayed in about 10 hotels this year. This is the second one I want to comment on. The cleanliness and service are very good. The main thing is that the entire hotel from the public area to the rooms is great. The public area is French and North American style. I didn’t check the room I booked. We were upgraded to a hot spring room. The room was in North American style and the facilities were exquisite. Locals have stayed in resort hotels such as InterContinental, Pullman, Crowne Plaza, Sheraton, and Wyndham during weekend vacations in Banna and with ** consumption coupons. The facilities are not as good as this room, and it is impossible to stay at 90 for a price of 500 to 600. With a square meter suite, Menghai is suitable for vacation, and this hotel makes the vacation experience even higher.
PParkhurstBeautiful resort! Like a cruise ship, but on land. The food at the breakfast buffet was great with cereals, typical Chinese breakfast options of fried rice/lo mien/breakfast noodles, eggs, fruit, yogurt, coffee, pastries, and waffles/pancakes. Dinner was great, too, and we found that going a bit earlier helped to get fresh food and avoid holiday crowds. Patrick, the general manager was amazing and so kind. He stopped at a fair amount of people’s tables, despite being very busy during CNY, to make sure everything was ok.
The room was awesome. We overlooked the golf course. Mornings were foggy and crisp. Evenings were full of fireworks and we had a great vantage from our 3rd floor balcony to see many of the smaller displays. Our housekeepers were amazing and added nice touches each day such as extra coffee, towel art, and a fresh bit of bath salts.
Around the resort there is a lot to do from day hikes, a soak in the hot springs, golf (when the course is open), horse rides, jet skiing, and swimming. It was too chilly to swim in the outdoor pool at the hotel but the hot springs were perfect.
Just a quick note on the location of the resort - it is about a 45-minute drive from Jinghong. Some people we talked to didn’t realize that and thought that the starlight market was close by. DiDi drivers were readily available so getting back into the night market area wasn’t a problem.
For general things, we also had a lot of help from Echo. She was lovely and gave us a good idea of what do around the area.
GGuest UserI traveled with my 60-year-old parents and rented a car to drive in Xishuangbanna. It was very noisy in Gaozhuang, so I decided to come to Menghai and booked this hotel temporarily. When I checked in, it was beyond imagination. It should be the most cost-effective hotel I have ever stayed in! There were not too many people for five people, and Xiaomei at the front desk was very enthusiastic. She upgraded the room type for free, helped with luggage, and provided transportation to the resort's attractions... There was also a tea table in the lobby with an unlimited supply of Pu'er tea cakes. I was really satisfied! #Dining room
JJuliatogliattiChinese Rich style hotel, huge lobby, spacious room, high ceiling, giant bed, mirrors across half the wall, carpets on the floor, red wood hand carved furniture in the lobby which is an attraction on its own. Rooms have all necessary toiletries, including hair dryer. Complimentary fruits and balls of Puer tea. Breakfast is massive buffet, could be good enough as a dinner. Staff are extremely nice and helpful, helped us to sort sightseeing places, find a driver, book everything, wrote names in Chinese language of the places we wanted to go. Hotel location is also very convenient, close to everything. Enjoyed the stay.
GGuest UserThe boss is a primary school physical education teacher and a cheerful person who loves life. It was already past seven o'clock when we arrived at the store. The boss was worried about us and made several phone calls to us. We can order the meal in advance. It tastes good and the portion is large. After the meal, the boss sang and danced. , performed Hani dance for us, heard us say that we wanted to see the sunrise the next day, drove us to find the way in the evening, invited us to drink tea when we came back, shared local stories, and introduced the tea-making process, which benefited us a lot. I must say that the boss's tea is delicious and the people are very down-to-earth. The big bowl of noodles for ten yuan for breakfast is very hot and very filling. I have always wanted to experience the tea mountain. This time, my little wish came true and I also felt the boss. What a joy to pass on, so lucky that the boss even lent us his family’s national costumes to take photos.
