"This hotel meets and exceeds the requirements for a business stay. Rooms and large and the added amenities were a bonus. My room had a kitchen and an office area. The hotel is very central and modern!"

"The staff at the hotel and the restaurant are the nicest and most accommodating people I've encountered in over 50 years of traveling. The hotel is charming -- lovely common rooms and dining areas, gardens and nice size pool, not to mention the medieval castle directly above it and the lovely waterfall a 20 minute walk away. The rooms and dining areas (outdoors and in) look out onto the valley below and mountains on the other side, making the 10 minute drive up a windy road with hairpin turns worth the effort. I stayed in Room 220, which was large, with a small sitting area and desk as well as a small balcony. My adult daughter stayed in 215, which was an even nicer small suite. There are only 20 rooms/suites in the hotel. The half board had many gourmet treats and was good value. An a la carte menu was also available. For those with the means, a 12 seat Michelin starred restaurant is on the premises. The chef oversees the other restaurant too. Nearby, there is some nice hiking at about 6000 feet (a gondola ride gets you to the top), very extensive gardens (Trauttmansdorff Castle) and the the town of Merano with a beautiful church) but this is not the heart of the Dolomite hiking paradise."

"We stumbled upon the hotel quite by chance. It's in a very good location for exploring Merano on foot, yet very quiet, and has plenty of parking. The rooms are very nice, and you can use the kitchen if needed. They also serve a very good breakfast. There's a heated pool available. Everyone is very nice."

Hotel Pension Verdorfer

"The Pension/Hotel Verdorfer is simply very recommendable. We are now the third year with the family Verdorfer and are enthusiastic every time. The breakfast is very rich and always fresh, the rooms are clean and you have everything you need, just the view of Meran is wonderful. It is also recommended to breakfast on the beautiful terrace. The outdoor area is always maintained, the pool is comfortable and clean. There is enough lying and also small pergola invited to stay, even a sauna. The family and the team are very helpful and will try to do so well for the guests. The home kitchen enchanted wonderful dishes at very pleasant price, there is also a pleasant dining in the house. Even a car load pillar is available or that one or other company game for couples and families if the weather does not play with. We will be happy to come back."

"A friend and I were traveling through the area and happened upon Villa Bavaria online. It seemed nice and affordable and we booked for three nights. We were so lucky to have found it. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was SO GOOD and affordable. I have Celiac disease and have to eat Gluten Free and they accommodated me above and beyond with baskets of gluten free snacks and bread each morning and a slightly modified menu at night. Breakfast was included and was a 5* buffet of fresh fruits, meats and cheese, amazing breads (for the non-Celiacs), cereals, yogurts, etc. Dinner, for 35 Euro was a five course menu and it was incredibly gourmet and beautiful. Honestly, for 35 Euro we didn't have super high expectations and we were blown away. The rooms were impeccable, large and some (mine!) air-conditioned. The views, stunning, the garden gorgeous and both pool areas were lovely. It felt like we were at a private Villa. The location is perfect as well. This hotel is a gem. I really can't say enough good about it. Made our trip!! We will be back!"
