Radisson Blu Hotel, Halle Merseburg

Missmanaged! This time I stayed in this hotel for 16 days. It’s a pity that such a beautiful hotel in a perfect location is so badly managed. I start with the cleaning of the room, it’s ready in less than 1 minute! I’m not kidding, it’s the truth, they never clean or disinfect the toilet sit, or the bathroom sink, they never collect empty bottles of water that you may have left behind, and they never change the bed sheets! They just put your towels in place and make the bed, that’s all. On Friday’s everyone of the hotel personnel leaves their work early, so don’t plan having a drink in the beautiful hotel front, nobody is working that day. Do you need to order some laundry? Forget about it between Friday and Monday! The are no people willing to earn some money on those days. So the service is closed… the personnel is mostly relaxing in the basement on a quiet spot they have there..and so on, it seems like the hotel manager doesn’t care about the guests at all. I am really disappointed about this hotel. It could be just a wonderful place to stay.

No laundry service from Friday to Monday. The hotel bar is closed on Fridays, they never clean the rooms only change your towels. You will have to pay for the parking. The people working in the hotel are lazy and rude.

We stayed one night. The hotel is located in Merseburg, an ancient city situated on the Saale River and within a short drive from Halle and Leipzig. Partly covered parking may be available behind the hotel at EUR 13/night, however spaces are limited and we were lucky to get one of the last remaining spaces. We chose the hotel based on a previous stay in 2021. Unfortunately no Business Class Room was available this time, so we opted for a Junior Suite, which turned out to be situated in a separate wing. Our room was spacious with a separate sitting area, comfy beds and a large bathroom. The separate wing was connected to the main building by a stairway, making it necessary to carry our rather heavy baggage up and down to get it to and from our room, not very pleasant. We visited on a sunny and warm day in August and although our room was large and nice it had no air con (available in Business Class Rooms). Even though a fan was available and windows could be opened our room was uncomfortably warm. Breakfast was included in our rate and was good with a number of hot and cold items. We visited on a busy morning and our experience as a whole was not as quiet and relaxing as we had expected, partly due to a less successful organization of the different items.

On our way home from Italy, we stayed overnight at this hotel. I have never stayed at a hotel, with such poor sleeping comfort and old style rooms, stained carpet, no proper ventilation, only positive thing were the bathroom, paid eur 115,- reasonable good shape. Car-park were in poor condition, considering we paid eur 13,- for one night. The personal were positive, especially the waiter, very nice service.
