Entering the resort is stunning and beautiful. The valet was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Check-in went smoothly. The room had a beautiful lake view but the windows were so smeared and dirty and going out onto the patio, there were a lot of bird droppings on the railing. The path lights around the lake weren't working and it was so dark and scary. There was a fireplace in the room but all the operating buttons were damaged. We requested luggage racks twice but they never appeared. There was an iPad in the room. We inquired about it and was told it's used to order room service and other services..... it didn't work and would not charge. All this is upon arrival and I am concerned about the rest of our stay.

It has been 12 years since my last visit to this hotel and I was once again reminded why I don’t stay here. The service is deplorable. Checking in took forever, people on the desk seem not to care or change gears when there is a line. They had a concert the night after my stay and were testing the sound system which was so loud in my Mountain View room. I called the front desk who then connected me to security and they said tough beans! Breakfast service took forever, food was ok coffee was TERRIBLE!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the folks at Inn of the Mountain Gods. We didn't make reservations ahead for the buffet, which filled up, but it looked great. We ate instead a the the Broken Arrow which had a diverse menu and a full bar. The resort is clean, comfortable and spacious. It's nice that there's more to do than gamble. Lots of families make for a friendly environment. The lobby is spacious with views of the lake and mountains. A nice place to relax. Our room was clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the lake. Will definitely return.

This place was not worth my almost $800 for a Friday and Saturday stay. First they gave us our room and hour and a half late. Then the heater would turn off every time we would leave the room. The pool smelled like old chlorine. Super gross. The sink would not drain properly and there was no security when it came to going to the room area. When I complained about the late check in I was advised that they only do something if you get your room pass 6 pm. Then they charged me an extra $48 for no reason and it was so hard to get my money back. I had to talk to the accounting department. Let’s just say I will never be going back

We had a great time from the minute we got there till the minute we left. We had a very nice comfortable room with a nice view of the lake. Massages were great. We had good luck in the ****** and ate some very good food. We are planning to return soon.

The facility is gorgeous, ****** lots of fun (need to get a handle on occasional homeless person scouring the floor); restaurant food really good; no complaints on restaurant service - only problem with this hotel is the work ethic - this constant issue of being non-committal in taking care of the customer. It was like this in the 90's when my sister from New York City complained about ice machine being broken, no one was about to take it on to fix it. We loved staying here but on 3 occasions in just 3 days/2 nights we found things have not changed. We arrived early to Ruidoso & called to see if we could check in early - we were told to check in online & would receive a text when room ready. We did not hear by 2P so decided to check with front desk, again told room not ready - that's fair, but when 3pm check-in time arrived & still no text, we went again to front desk & were told that supervisor has to approve room, check-in starts at 3PM but no guarantees to when we get in - happened at 3:30P. The first morning I asked for early housekeeping and again was told she can send an email, but no guarantees as to when it will be done. Also on our 1st morning I called down to see when pool opened & told 6AM. Both days pool did not open at 6AM. The 1st day we snuck in thru the men's dressing room to access - pool & hot tub wonderful, but used towels & water bottles everywhere. When I mentioned this to front desk girl, she said they had no pool attendant that morning...?? how hard to have another employee spend 10 minutes opening & clearing towels & water bottles away. I think the problem lies with management & not stressing that the employees are there to make ore stay unforgettable. All employees should be more helpful, grateful for a wonderful place to work & SMILE!!

Terrible place! Rooms are outdated and dirty. The patio had a lot of trash, cigarette butts, food wrappers, and even hair as if someone was having a hair cut! Desk assistances were very rude there were several people in line and pretended like they didn’t see anyone. Asked about the ski apache and none of them knew if it was open. Food service is extremely slow, besides taking for ever the waitress mention they had ran out of certain food and drinks! Food was gross and over priced. ****** is just a way of stealing your money as soon as money was inserted you automatically lost, made no sense. Also, there was no snow and website kept posting snow pics of the place. Overall, they deceive people in how the resort looks and what they offer!

The ****** Kiosk was down so no promotional offers for 4 days. Disappointing for first timers. Gift shop people were constantly on break so the shop’s hours were deceiving. Staff was somewhat friendly but clearly didn’t go out of their way to be helpful. Room was nice and roomy. Reasonably priced. View was spectacular.
