Hotel Brocco & Posta ★★★
"This review is the result of a long 13-day stay that allowed us to fully experience the town of San Bernardino, a satisfaction that, unfortunately, did not include our stay at the Hotel Brocco e Posta. The property, ideally located in the center of the small village, lacks its own parking (allowed only for loading and unloading), but parking is permitted in a public lot about a hundred meters away for 5 francs per day (payable at the hotel). The very recent renovation has nicely modernized both the common areas and the rooms, which, however, still have very old and non-soundproof windows (luckily, our room faced the rear of the building but, unfortunately, was very close to a construction site already underway at 7 a.m.). The biggest criticism is certainly the restaurant, not so much for the quality of the dishes, which are always excellent, but for the choice offered to those, like us, who opted for half-board. For 13 days, the menu remained the same, with a choice of four appetizers, three first courses (which included the soup of the day... the same for 13 days), and three second courses. As an alternative to the main course, you could order a pizza (unless the pizza chef was away for a week's rest or illness...). As for dessert, the choice was practically nonexistent; for days on end, the option was between the same two desserts; when we requested a substitute for a scoop of ice cream (yes, a scoop), we were charged a surcharge of 5 francs. This situation created obvious discontent, which, not exactly well managed, led us on our last night to forgo a prepaid dinner to treat ourselves to a pizza at a much less pretentious but much more courteous establishment. Speaking of courtesy, with a few pleasant exceptions, the staff certainly didn't stand out for their friendliness. And I don't want to add any painful examples... Last but not least, to add to the obvious arrogance, an email we sent both to the hotel and directly to the owners, written in a non-polemical but absolutely constructive tone, has still not been answered, almost a month after it was sent. In conclusion, we will certainly return to San Bernardino for other stays, whether longer or shorter, but our choice will fall on other less-hyped properties that are extremely helpful and welcoming to their guests."
Hotel Bellevue ★★★
"We stayed in family at this facility for two nights. We have now experienced a difficulty, because my partner is currently pregnant and we have a two-year-old child, the concomitant absence of the elevator and the room allocated to the third floor, The hotel has been very comfortable and the staff at the reception and restaurant have always been friendly and solar. We found the clean, spacious room with safe, flat-screen TV and basic services. The price of the room is not very good, the costs are clearly upwards for the well-known area. Surely recommended, but if you travel in delicate situations, check in advance what plane the room has been allocated to you."
Chalet Soleada - Happy Rentals ★★★
