The Meridian Hotel by at Mine Hospitality

Disappointing for a 4-star hotel Unfortunately, our stay at The Meridian fell far short of expectations, and more importantly, it didn't feel like a 4-star hotel at all. We had booked two rooms with balconies. One of them was practically on the ground floor, with the balcony looking directly onto the parking lot – definitely not the type of balcony one expects when booking a room in this category. The other room, on the fourth floor, had a very obvious problem with the shower; the water pressure was extremely weak, making showering truly uncomfortable. In general, the common areas seemed bare, not very clean, and poorly maintained, with old furniture that was sometimes damaged or broken. The overall impression was that the property desperately needed serious maintenance and refurbishment. We reported the issues, and we must acknowledge that the staff were kind and helpful: they changed our room and even replaced the showerhead in the room. We certainly appreciate their intervention, but for a stay of only three nights, having to deal with these problems and request solutions inevitably made the stay less enjoyable. Even the cleaning management left us puzzled: the room is only cleaned upon request, not daily by default. While this choice might be understandable in some establishments, I personally find it unsuitable for a hotel that presents itself as 4-star. On the morning of our departure, we also had an issue with the elevator, which wasn't working. Again, the staff were very kind: they immediately called someone to help us with our luggage, and the response was very quick. So, no complaints about the helpfulness of the people working at the hotel. The problem is that the staff's kindness cannot compensate for the shortcomings of the property. Between unconvincing rooms, a balcony practically overlooking the parking lot, shower problems, old and poorly maintained common areas, cleaning only upon request, and maintenance issues, the overall experience was absolutely not what one expects from a 4-star hotel. For three nights in Miami, we simply expected a comfortable, clean, and well-maintained room, without having to waste time resolving inconveniences. Kind and helpful staff, but the property is absolutely not up to 4-star standards. I would not return.

Excellent service, staff, rooms, pool - everything works great

We didn't like it here. The rooms were dirty. We checked in late and were given the wrong room codes. We had to wait over an hour for a staff member to simply enter a new code.

The location is convenient, restaurants and bars are within walking distance, you can get to the center by taxi for 10 dollars. The beach is a 10-minute walk away. My room overlooked the main road, it was noisy at times. The hotel has a delicious breakfast and coffee for an additional fee (about 15 dollars). There is a lot of greenery on the hotel grounds and around the hotel.

Zeer teleurstellende ervaring! Na een verblijf van 11 nachten werd mij slechts een belachelijke compensatie van $69 aangeboden voor basisdiensten die niet werden geleverd, zoals dagelijkse schoonmaak, schone handdoeken en koffie- en theefaciliteiten. Als ik hiervan gebruik wilde maken, moest ik dit bovendien elke dag zelf aanvragen zodra ik iemand van het onderhoudspersoneel zag. Het is onaanvaardbaar dat gasten zelf achter diensten moeten aanlopen die inbegrepen zijn in de hotelprijs! Zelfs een driesterrenhotel biedt deze standaardservice aan. Daarnaast was er ’s nachts veel lawaai, lag de zij-ingang elke ochtend vol rommel, achtergelaten door gasten van de aangelegen bar en ontbrak elke vorm van toezicht of beveiliging. Dronken gasten die niet in het hotel verbleven in het zwembad en openlijk *****gebruik zorgden voor een bijzonder onveilig gevoel. Door de geluidsoverlast, het geschreeuw van de kamer naast me en de extreem dunne muren heb ik geen deftige nachtrust gehad, waardoor ik mij heb overslapen en een betaalde excursie heb gemist. Slechte service, gebrekkige hygiëne, geluidsoverlast en een ernstig gebrek aan veiligheid. De aangeboden compensatie van $69 voor al deze ongemakken is ronduit beledigend. Absoluut geen aanrader!
