Hotel Mythos

The hotel is close to the train station, with less than 10mins walk. Also, the room is bright and the toilet heating is good.

My husband and I have just stayed 4 nights here and unfortunately didn’t have a great stay. Pros- close to the train station, friendly staff and nearby restaurants are good. Good sized bathroom and beds. Cons- air conditioning doesn’t work so the room was very hot, breakfast wasn’t great, noise is just ridiculous. On check in we were given room 203. A nice room on first impressions but we only realised as we went to sleep that the balcony door (onto the main road) didn’t seal, meaning you could hear everything as if you were sleeping outside. We rang to reception and they said they’d move us in the morning. 2 hours later, with no sleep at all, at 1am we rang down again to see if we could move rooms immediately to get some sleep. They said they were fully booked and we’d have to wait until morning. My husband ended up moving his mattress into the tiny hallway (which had a door) and sleeping there- which as you can imagine was not a pleasant experience. We had about an hour of sleep all together and missed our train the next morning as a result. Hotel offered a free breakfast but nothing more. At 11am we were moved to room 108- much better and the shower was twice the size. However this room had faulty electrics and the hallway light could not be switched off, meaning we had to close the hallway door to sleep and this made the room incredibly warm. The walls are also super thin and you could hear everything in other rooms. If you stay here, make sure to request a room that is on the other side of the hotel, away from the main road.

Nice hotel in a good location, close to Milano Centrale train station and the metro but also within walking distance to Porta Venezia with its bars, restaurants and park. Isola was also not far to walk and overall it felt like the perfect location for a short break. The room was a decent size for one person with a good sized shower room - although there was no window, only a skylight. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Very clean. Nice polite & helpfulstaff, Excellent Breakfast. Great Location. Would definitley recommend and will be staying again if in Milan. Ideally situated to loads of attraction, and very close to main railway station, which is under a 10 minute walk.

Nice room, quiet, nice terrace. The bed very comfortable, a good place to sleep. The room very clean and the people from the reception very nice. Near the Central Station and Metro and you can eat just over the street a very good pasta.

Hotel Mythos have shown zero compassion for a failed journey. A train journey I was on was cancelled part way through and all travellers were stranded halfway. All further trains were cancelled. No coaches or taxis were available. I emailed the hotel with proof and with a very apologetic message that I was physically unable to make my reservation. I requested some leniency in the situation on account of it being outside of my control, but no: ignoring my email and not responding, they marked me as a no show. I felt this was incredibly rude as a response, not even to reply personally to my email. They could have shown a degree of empathy by offering perhaps 50% from the cost of the room, but chose not to. In situations like this I have seen such kindness from other hotels that this really stands out to me as terrible service.

For a 3 star this was a great little hotel - it is very close to the train station which was perfect for our trip. It's also only a 30 minute walk from the Duomo which we did one day and found this fairly easy. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel and instead just went to local cafes and bakeries for coffee and pastries - there are lots nearby to choose from. There's a couple of nice restaurants and bars on the street which are great if you don't want to go back to the centre of town for dinner. The only thing that I didn't love was that they ask you to hand your room key back in whenever you leave the hotel - this was a little strange to me as I would have preferred to keep it with me for security reasons. I'm assuming this is because they have one room card per room and would struggle if this was lost - the card also said the hotel name and room on it so if you did lose it then someone would have easy access to your room. We had no issues however, and there was always someone at reception to give us our key back. Just something to bear in mind.

Just a few minutes walk from the main station in Milan, this hotel will give you what you need if you just want a simple clean place to stay on your travels. It is a high turnover place. Our room was clean and smart. Reception staff were efficient and courteous.
