Mixed Experience at Mio Hostel: Great Location and Staff, but Dorm Room Disappointing I recently stayed at a Mio hostel in Milan during my trip to Italy and had a mixed experience overall. The location of the hostel was excellent , making it convenient to explore the city's attractions. Additionally, the staff were friendly and accommodating, providing helpful recommendations and assistance throughout my stay. However, my choice to stay in a dorm room for four people was not ideal. While it seemed like a budget-friendly option at first, it proved to be less comfortable than anticipated. The room felt cramped, and coordinating with roommates for sleeping arrangements and bathroom usage was a bit challenging.

This hostel was situated within walking distance to Milan Lambrate Train Station (will passby if coming from Venice). However, the entrance was not very obvious and you have to press the doorbell to get in. Overall looks really old and run-down, but check-in was fast. Although it’s stated non-smoking, we could smell cigarettes along the corridors and in our toilet. There is no kettle or water dispenser at all, though the staff says Milan’s tap water is clean to drink, the tap doesn’t seem trustworthy. You can buy bottled water from the vending machine downstairs. Also, there were people in the garden watching videos loudly throughout the night, and the sound was heard clearly in our room, which annoyed us and we couldn’t sleep well. If you just need a place to stay for a night, the price is okay.

I booked an en-suite room and I’m very satisfied with it. Although there’s quite a distance from city Centre, it is very convenient to have transportation available at walking distance.

The staff very friendly and helpful.But the room not very clean and at morning very noisy until you can't sleep well.

Clean but the location is a bit far from the city centre. The staffs are very nice and let me early check in at 1:30pm.

A very nice place to stay in, suitable and very friendly for backpacks travellers. Only take half an hour to city centre, very high quality for such a nice price~

Cheap room but high standard. Receptionist are nice and friendly and the room is clean. It’s just it doesn’t have slippers but it’s ok we stay just for a night.

Above all, I did not see humanity in this place, even if you are sick, you will not get any help and it is possible that you will die in this place, because in this place they only want your money, your health and others are not important. I will not go to this place.

The facilities are ok. However, despite of what is written on the poster, some of the services are not provided. For instance, there is no free water or breakfast. Also found a bug on the bed, not sure what bug it is but it’s scary.
