Casa Strela B&B Tarrafal

Unfortunately an unpleasant review, although some of the staff were very, very nice - a few were a bit overbearing, but that is perhaps all humanly normal. We had cockroaches in our room, in the bed, in the bedroom and in the bathroom. After I mentioned this to reception, they snappily said: “And what do you want now? We usually give a little discount.” Cockroaches can always occur in these countries, but there were too many and it was very unpleasant. I picked up a rash from it, which I now have to treat. Could be anthrax, have to check it out with the doctor first, but unfortunately it looks like it, but I hope I get off with a black eye - would be nice!!! The room was incredibly noisy. We couldn't sleep before midnight and were wide awake at five o'clock. The walls are not insulated at all, just what appear to be pressed panels and we could hear every step of the staff and every conversation - even during the day we couldn't find five minutes of peace in our room. We then slept on the beach. Breakfast and the roof terrace were a dream. We went out for dinner because of the long waiting times and if you are not there at the exact time as agreed, but a little earlier, you get begrudging looks. So it's worth reconsidering, because there are really great, good restaurants in the immediate vicinity. In future, if nothing changes to the standard, we would definitely choose another restaurant. We would definitely choose a different hotel in the future if nothing changes to the standard, possibly Hotel Blue Sky in Tarrafal, which seemed very tidy and clean. But unfortunately we don't know whether this is really the case.

we stayed here for 4 nights.... the price was good, the staff very nice, breakfast was OK and the room was small...the mattress was pretty poor... ..we had the room in the front of the inn with a tiny balcony overlooking the sea....barely enough room to sit on.. just a small wooden, backless bench...the room was in the main stairway so when diners left at night it was noisy....we sleep early, so maybe not a problem for someone else....the bathroom was clean, but tiny.....toilet was impossibly placed...almost in shower... no amenities except a bottle of hand soap....room was cleaned daily .....the best part of the hotel was its location near the Kingfisher Hotel.....there was really nothing wrong with the place, it just was OK....

We came for dinner in the restaurant and had a delicious “fish of the day” menu and homemade chocolate icecream for dessert, which were one of the best meals we have had in Tarrafal. We got An eceptional good service from the girl working there ☺️ and the atmosphere was relaxing. If you go to Tarrafal you must visit!

As good as it gets! I`ve been surfing Africa west to east, from Liberia to Oman, and north to south, from Maroc to S.A. and stayed in many places but Casa Strela in Tarrafal is top of the list, for sure! Great accommodation, quality waves, amazing staff and food from another planet! Can`t wait to get back, deffo!

We had a very nice trip wich was fishing and snorkling. After that we ate the fish and the waiters were super kind. We had a very nice day and we were very excited! Thank you for this unforgettable experience!!
