Like another review said, there are so many simple small things this hotel gets wrong, that add up to make it nowhere near a 5* resort. From the moment we entered: no one greets you to take your bags, unlike Turkish/ Egyptian / Asia stays. The man on the desk rushed us up/ down steps & gestured to our room down a corridor, rather than taking us there & making us feel welcomed. He was the least welcoming front of house staff I've met. Room was small - no place to store or unpack cases. Just enough room to turn around in the bathroom, no toiletry storage space. The hotel rectified this on the 2nd day with a huge apartment - but I don't believe any room for a 5* should be this small. Both rooms had ant issues all over the balcony, making it impossible to enjoy the balcony area. When you get to the room, you can't use the mini fridge for your own items. But the hotel has no access to any drinking water, except at breakfast time or paying an extortionate €5 for small bottle (plus "service" charge) - at evening meals you cannot get water unless you pay, again the hotel rectified this it's crazy they take away the breakfast water just to exploit you for more €€. The staff all agreed but all said "sorry it's the rules we are told to follow" The service at the bar in the evening is so slow, I dread to think what peak season is like The pool area is cramped, with so many loungers together it's claustrophobic. The pools are small & more about the "instagram" look than enjoyable spaces But atleast there's loungers, cos when you pop to the beach they exploit you for more € by charging €12 per lounger (there's a cheaper guy along the beach) - I found this disgraceful for a "5*" hotel. There is no drink facility at the beach, so you either need to go up 106 steps to the hotel or to the pool bar. Many families struggled carrying buggy. The pool bar serves up half cups of coffee for €3.5 - again disappointing, you need to order 2 to get a normal coffee size The evening meal is 7-9 with small buffet area, it's overcrowded & makes it unenjoyable. Food was very samey but was nice. The hotel is soulless - no atmosphere, no charm, very robotic. It is definitely not 5* & miles behind hotels worldwide & no sign of 5* service. The evening singers were good despite losing their audience taking long breaks. Positives - beach is beautiful, food was good, it's clean - Ante, beach boy, Mihaela, Roko & the blonde young lady on reception were all lovely. I'd never stay here again & I wouldn't recommend the hotel. Which is the first time I've ever left a review like this. Thoroughly disappointing & overrated. Shame the Croatian entrepreneur sold it out to the Middle Eastern billionaire!
