Premier Inn Minehead ★★★
"A quick trip away with my partner, the staff were really helpful and pleasant. I would stay here again."
Dunster Castle Hotel ★★★
"Breakfast was brilliant (especially the fruit salad), the room was so clean and the proprietors were very attentive, happy and helpful. It's the second time my son and I have visited there, and look forward to going back soon"
Dunkery Beacon Country House ★★★★
"The location is beautiful, with great views. Exmoor is a Dark Skies area and there are great views of the stars (weather permitting). The rooms are outstanding, as also applies to the breakfasts and in particular to Andy and Tanya who run the place. They are always extremely helpful and never intrusive. The whole place is always spotlessly clean."
The Lorna Doone Hotel ★★★
"Another enjoyable evening meal at the Lorna Doone restaurant. I now always make sure to pre-book to avoid disappointment; it's easy enough to do. Staff are always welcoming and helpful and the little dining room is very cosy. This time I had a glass of delicious Merlot with the Cajun chicken, which was tasty and just at the perfect side of spicy for me. Previously I enjoyed the Lamb Three Ways and the slow cooked beef ribs. I didn't intend to have pudding, but opted again for the rhubarb & ginger affair... My companions also love the Lamb, but this time had the Saltimbocca, which they really enjoyed."
The Rest and Be Thankful Inn ★★★★
"Although we had booked a King/Twin room months in advance, sadly we were informed upon our arrival that something had gone wrong with the booking system, which meant that the room was not available. The landlord offered us a Double and an adjacent Single room instead, which is obviously not a desirable option for a married couple on a romantic getaway. We therefore opted to both sleep in the double room, though we regretted our decision the next morning, as the bed was clearly too narrow for two people to sleep in comfortably. The landlord had offered to make up for this mishap with our dinner, though we ended up being merely treated to 2 glasses of sparkling wine, which seemed a bit too small a gesture for our inconvenience. On the bright side, staff very generally friendly and we liked the breakfast. But having seen the high review rating this Inn is getting, it did feel somewhat of a let-down, to be honest. Google lists the establishment as a 4-star hotel, which doesn't seem quite appropriate. E.g. bottled water in the room was sorely missing. The decor also seemed rather dated to us."
The Crown Hotel ★★★
"Thank you Chris and Sarah for another lovely stay and making us feel welcome and comfortable. .The rooms are great and comfortable with lovely bathrooms. Well the food is excellent with great choices on the evening menu and breakfast is divine. The staff are so helpful. Great place to stay to explore Exmoor and surrounding areas. See you next year."
The Royal Oak Exmoor ★★★★
"We had a fantastic family meal for 6 of us on a very busy Saturday night. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding and the pub was busy and full which was great.. such a lovely atmosphere. We had mains and desserts and lovely wine.. Will definitely visit to eat again"
Exmoor House ★★★★
"Central location .in a stunning village . A character property tastefully decorated and furnished . Welcoming hosts who went to great pains to anticipate their guests needs with so Many little extras . The included breakfast was freshly cooked and the fried bread was divine."
Luttrell Arms ★★★
"Very disappointing lunch. After a visit to Dunster Castle, we booked a lunch in the bar area. I'm afraid my burger was horrible with poor quality of meat, turkey dinner was tasteless and my houmous sandwich was the worst I'd ever eaten. We won't eat here again."
