This place is really well located in the centre of Trancoso and within the walls. I came for the medieval gathering that celebrates a royal wedding in the 13th century. The people are very proud of their legacy. This hotel is a mix of old and new throughout and the hotel boasts a charming games room, beautiful and cosy living room and a really serene breakfast area. The bedroom is modern and the bed is comfy and massive. The shutters means it is very dark. Rain forest style shower and the bath gel and shampoo are from local companies. The best bit is the pool and garden though which have all manner of comforts but if you think busy resort this is the exact opposite. All I can hear right now is the church bells, birds, some planes in the sky and the odd delivery van. It literally has everything you need to relax and take on the sun. Breakfast is perfect, good mixture of local produce and they cater for most countries. The cheeses are wide ranging, the yoghurt home made and one can hear the team work hard (but quietly) in the kitchen. Only reason for taking a star off is the A/C which I couldn't work for some reason. Also this hotel is next to the resteraunt that served me the best food I've ever tasted.

Has seen better days. My wife and I spent a few nights there back in 2018. 9 nights in oct 2023. Has declined d considerably. Bath is bad, towels are like sand paper. No fridge. Very complicated to spend more than one night. Hard to save clothes toiletries etc. furniture falling apart. Beds uncomfortable. Will not stay again.

The exterior of the building says a lot about what you will find inside, a true return to the past. The interior is very well decorated with a mix of contemporary and everything that was possible to preserve from the past. The transformation of the mansion was very well achieved. Good service and a good breakfast buffet, good quality of the products available. Very comfortable room. We loved it!!!

We spent 4 nights in a phenomenal place. Everything is top notch, the cleanliness of the place, the discreet but efficient service, the very large room and the bathroom. What can we say about the breakfast, excellent… The garden with the magnificent swimming pool. And all this for €85 per night all inclusive!!

The hotel is quite charming, the rooms are very comfortable and the decor really makes a difference. I believe the little cafe can be improved. It's tasty but nothing exceptional. They serve the basics well. The towels are very thin and the bathroom sink is beautiful but unusual. The bed is quite comfortable but the pillow could be better. There is complimentary water. Overall, we were very well received and felt good during our 2 night stay. The city is very welcoming and breathes history. It's worth the accommodation.
