Fairfield by Marriott Gifu Mino

Fairfield by Marriott Gifu Mino

📍 Sodai, 2001-1 Shiroshita, Mino
★★★ 9.6 (45 reviews)

"The hotel is very new and spacious. Our check-in was quick and staff greeted us warmly. There was free parking, which is an advantage. Rooms are very spacious and well designed, there were room to laid out 2 big luggages. The view to the river nearby was also great. The hotel kindly offers a map of the city and restaurant info. They also offer to help book the restuarants. However, some info was not updated because a restaurant the hotel said is open turns out to be closed. Any how, our stay was pleasant."

Nipponia Mino Shokamachi

📍 1912-1, Motozumi-Cho, Mino

"We absolutely loved our stay at Nipponia Mino. We stayed in a two story apartment in the converted warehouse across from the main hotel and it was so beautiful. Each room had thoughtful stunning details - beautiful art on washi paper, a gorgeous soaking cedar tub, and antique furnishings. The host was incredibly helpful with suggestions of things to see and places to eat. We went to the soba restaurant across the street and he walked us there so we knew where it was (which was very lucky because otherwise we would've missed it.) He also rode his bike to our accomodations to make sure we found it and show us around. I loved the Nipponia. If we return to Japan, we'll definitely visit their other properties. Mino is also such a special place. The people are incredibly friendly and welcoming and there's a lot to see and experience for such a small town -- from the paper latern museum to the centuries-old sake distillery. Don't miss the paper merchant's house, which has been turned into a museum, with tours given in English."

📍 Nagashige-cho 1949-1, Mino
★★★ 9.5 (8 reviews)

"Breakfast was included, but it was very poor. It may be unavoidable since it's an old house, but there was no sofa or chair in the room; it was just a table and cushions; I would have preferred at least a floor chair."

Yumotokan

Yumotokan

📍 520-2 Tachibana, Mino
★★★ 6.8 (5 reviews)

"The room is super big and the bath is very comfortable, but there is no way to take a shower after 9pm."

"The most perfect place I have ever stayed in Japan. My only regret was that I was travelling on my own and had no-one to share the experience with!"

Machiya Hotel Oyado Baison ★★★
"The hotel has an old-fashioned exterior, but the interior facilities are new and well-prepared. The staff were very friendly and helpful, pointing out attractions. The tea room serving tea and snacks all day and the library were pleasant surprises. The room with the ground floor garden view was very comfortable and had a great view. If you stay in an upstairs room, you have to climb stairs. If the bathtub were replaced with a hot spring, it would be perfect. I would definitely come back; I really enjoyed staying at this peaceful and comfortable hotel."

"#negative #I was disappointed with the Nearby shops; It's a rare stay. The experience is okay! The location is not very convenient. Because of the lack of staff, I can only walk to the hotel by myself. It's not easy for the old couple who run the hotel, but the price is still very good."
