It's very quiet, the staff are friendly, and the breakfast buffet is good.

The location is excellent, right by the river with a fantastic view from the balcony. It has all the necessary amenities, is very close to the Old Town, and there's a large market right next door that's worth a stroll to experience the local vibe. It's very clean and the service attitude is great. Overall, I highly recommend it.

The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive to customers. However, the door to the room next door (A42) I stayed in was broken, and when I asked the staff to fix it, they assured me there were no guests in the room next door, so I could rest assured. However, there were guests there, and they chatted late into the night. The door was not soundproof, so I couldn't sleep. Furthermore, the fact that they could enter our room at any time raised concerns about theft. Another issue was the extremely slow service in the restaurant. I had dinner twice during my three-night stay, and it took almost an hour from ordering to serving. These are areas where improvement is needed.

Hello , when you will return my over charged $ 1500? My friend and I stayed at City Blue Hotel Mombasa, Kenya on December 25, 2025. The next morning when we checked out, a staff member named Cynthia made a huge mistake with the billing—she charged my credit card 1,500 US dollars incorrectly, even though my actual total cost was only 5150 Kenya shillings. The hotel team apologized right away and promised the overcharged amount would be refunded to me by the Tuesday. But that promise turned out to be empty. I’ve waited for a full month, sending repeated emails and asking local friends to call the hotel to follow up. Yet, there’s been absolutely no response from them—no updates, no explanation, nothing. It’s incredibly frustrating to be left hanging like this over such a clear billing error. I just want the money that’s rightfully mine back, and it’s disappointing that the hotel isn’t honoring their refund promise or even communicating with me. What is the attitude of the hotel's senior management regarding this billing error? I want to receive my refund as soon as possible.

I enjoyed my stay at city blue the service was great the staff were very welcoming the food was rotary worth it i totally recommend 👌

The hotel was so nice and clean. Their pool area was so serene and it overlooked the Tidal Creek. Their food was also very good and we enjoyed our stay there.

I had stayed at this hotel some years back when it was known as best western hotel. Everything then was maintained and managed very well. This time it seemed as though the management and maintenance has been downgraded.i hope the hotel can see how to maintain its previous glory

We can't find fast food for dinner. The service was late bu if you need to stay there temporarily like one night it's acceptable.

Good breakfast, nice view from Balcony, 20 minutes (7$) Uber from airport.

Nice location, big rooms. The pool was too small and overrun with kids. Staff were very noisy in the corridors. A 10 AM checkout is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. Luckily, it was extended to 11 AM.

All round good. Staff were wonderful. Facility needs a refurbish especially the plumbing system that has corroded from salty water

The Lake view room was a lot worse than the other one that I stayed in. The humidity was awful. The air-conditioning doesn't work properly and have enough of an effect. The internet did work better though. The rooms away from the lake are more spacious and better ventilated.  Nonetheless, as a whole it is a good hotel. 

Gives the best views of the Indian ocean and has amazing staff. However, rooms a little bit dated and had a funny smell, next time you need to add some fragrance…
