"We had a calm and pleasant stay at Jetwing Kaduruketha. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Deshan, the butler assigned to us was very supportive and attentive to all our needs. We enjoyed the views of the paddy fields and the mountains. It was a great village experience to our 4yrs old son. He had the chance to experience some village toys/games, see a tree house, a river, paddy fields, a farm, scarecrows etc. Overall it was a very good stay for us."

"Our stay here was truly special and made us feel so happy. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly and kind; they really made us feel at home with their warm smiles. The rooms are very clean and spacious, giving us plenty of space to relax. We also loved the great views from the hotel it is so peaceful to look out at the nature. Spending time by the pool was a highlight, and the food was absolutely delicious! Every meal was full of flavor and made with care. Definitely will visit again."

"We had a short but enjoyable stay at the Centauria Wild Resort and had a wonderful lakeside view. The hotel is ideally positioned for Jeep Safari in Udawalawe National Park and to visit the Elephant Transit home. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast which offered lots of choices. The Service was excellent. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. A Special mention to our cheerful barman Lalitha who served our drinks and the hotel manager Damitha who sorted out a late checkout for us."

"My family and I stayed one night at River Cottage after making an over the phone booking with the owner. Location was good and rooms were basic. Bathrooms had no privacy as they are separated by a wall with open space at the top and you can hear every single thing the guests next-door say and do. Also, the host does not have a backup power source in place and there was a power outage the next morning, so we had to wait for a few hours before the power got restored. There was no tea or coffee provided in the rooms and when we asked for a kettle to make our own tea the owner was reluctant to provide saying that it might attract 'Ants' to the rooms. However, at the end he agreed to give us hot water so we could use the outside area to prepare our tea. In addition to that, the owner promised us breakfast at LKR 500/- per person over the phone, but when the actual invoice was raised it was LKR 900/- pp. However, he fixed it afterwards. Also, there was a 10% service charge which he never mentioned on the phone but was added to the total bill. Therefore our overall experience was not a great one!!!"

"Our first room smelled of stale urine as soon as we entered. Also did not look clean. Immediately asked to move room. Reception said they would sort it. Next we knew 2 mangers and 2 cleaners came to try and clean the room. When we said no we wanted to move manager got a bit hostile. We insisted and moved room. Next room smelled better but on our first night was not clean. Food was poor and as hotel was empty only a very limited set menu was provided. Only positive was the pool man who was always friendly, efficient and kept the pool amazing. Also perhaps the owner/ manager should leave the restaurant, where staff are required to wait on him, and manage his hotel!"

"Do not stay here! Worst hotel we have ever stayed at in Sri Lanka. The food was diabolical and cold. The hot plates were left open with flies on the food and when we tried to close them the staff reopened them. Advertised breakfast started at 7 am and we needed this time as we were moving on but was nearer to 7.30 and again cold food which was inedible and very rushed. The chef didn’t really know what he was doing and spent a lot of time just faffing around. No hot water for tea or coffee so we had to get the kettle from our room! One of the staff was sneezing and carrying a dirty tissue in hands while serving food. The bar only served wine and beer and soft drinks ( no spirits or cocktails) and also ran out of beer for one of the days we were there. The glasses tasted of soap/ dishwasher rinse aid and couldn’t be used. The rooms were shabby with mirrors and the shelves hanging off the wall, dirty floor and bedding. One of the rooms the toilet seat was broken and the shower flooded. There were very basic amenities in the room. The staff’s attitude was poor and there was very little interaction with us. Very poor service all round. We will be reporting back to our travel agent (Trailfinders) as soon as we are home."

"This is by far the worst service I have ever experienced. The location might be acceptable, but everything else—safety, food, and service—is absolutely terrible. The staff have no respect whatsoever for customers, completely lacking even the basics of hospitality. The so-called welcome drink was not fresh and literally undrinkable. The food was horrible, poorly prepared, and not even sufficient for the number of guests. It was an absolute embarrassment. If you value your time, money, and dignity, do not choose this place under any circumstances. Go here only if you have no other option—otherwise, you’ll deeply regret it."

Gernot was very helpful with everything we needed, organising our jeep to the safari the next morning, and our dinner for that night. The whole place was very clean, and everyone very friendly. The Signature Lodge with a private pool is well worth it! You absolutely must go there!"

There are not many options for dinner but enough, the price is very reasonable, 12 dollars per person, each has an antecedent salad, staple food curry dessert. The boss also gave us beer per person very generously, and the local production of lion beer is really very fragrant. You must choose yala."

"Warm friendly welcome with a delicious cup of cinnamon tea. The room was basic but clean, no in room safe but there are multi country plug sockets and kettle for tea/coffee. Dinner was slightly disappointing food served cold and a little bland, perhaps in an effort to reduce the spice level for Western palette the chef had gone too far. Overall this accommodation provides good value in a lovely country setting."
