Palazzo BelVedere

Located in the cute Tuscany Thermalvillage Montecantini, this hotel has excellent service and a very good kitchen. Super food. The Spa-area seems to be newly renovated and offers a pool, hammam and sauna. Also the treatment I tried was really good. The Palazzo Belvedere's website however market itself with modern and elegant rooms. But the reality is something completely different. I travel a lot for business and pleasure and know that 5***** hotel quality might differ when one comes to Italy. But the disappointment that Palazzo Belvedere brought, was very sad. I thought at first sight, that I had been given one of the staff-rooms. The room was minimalistic, not even space to fit a door to the bathroom, neither to the shower (which was not the rain-shower promissed on their website). The sink in the bathroom was in rusty metal with a dirty rubber ring on top. Looked like a public WC. No shelf in the bathroom to put even a toothbrush, neither any shelf in the wardrobe in the room to place clothes. Futhermore, I had especially requested a quiet located room, but got a room facing the main-road with heavy traffic. Immediately after check-in, I requested to get another room, corresponding to what I had booked and which had also been confirmed to me. The only answer was ; the hotel is newly renovated, fullybooked, and we are sorry you do not like the style/design of your room....

It is a unique establishment in the snese that it is a 5 star hotel in terms of facilities and amenities but a boutique hotel in terms of the way staff interact with the guests. I had the best 3 day retreat I could ever ask for. Silvia and Giulia from the spa were amazing and I can even already call them friends. Mahmoud at the restaurant and all the staff there were wonderful not to mention the tasty and diverse food options made by the experienced chef. Yoga with Anu and the group yoga class with live music on Sunday were just perfect. The room and hotel facilities are spectacular with great attention to detail. The location is also great, next to the funiculare to go to Montecatini Alto and 10 mns walk from down town and the nearby park. Will definitely be back.

We’re so glad we switched our booking to Palazzo Belvedere! The front desk staff went above and beyond to find us a room last-minute, and their helpfulness set a great tone for the stay. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, although some noise from the bathrooms was noticeable—nothing that disrupted our experience. While the dining service didn’t quite have that polished 5-star touch, it was still good, and the overall service from the staff was attentive and welcoming. We’d happily return to Palazzo Belvedere for the excellent value, comfort, and genuine hospitality. Lastly the SPA / Pool area was very well maintained and very relaxing

Beautiful hotel with stylish decor. An easy walk to the town. Fabulous breakfast included in the room rate. The bedrooms are decorated in a lovely scandi style. Staff were really help and polite. Only a few niggles! The breakfast is left open with no lids on things like eggs and pastries so there are lots of flies. The hotel need to invest in fly fans that spin by the breakfast food if they don’t wish to cover it. The spa only has 6 sun loungers outside by the pool and we never managed to get one during our stay. We chose to then sit inside but because they leave the windows open and that makes the air humid you start to be bitten by mosquitos. A bit disappointing as we chose the hotel for the spa element then we couldn’t really spend any time there. The hotel should invest in more sun loungers and place them in the garden area with parasols as then guests who cannot get a lounger by the pool can sit in the garden.

No dinner available on the first night due to a private booking of only 20. I was told I should have booked No breakfast available in the breakfast room due to a large Jewish event , we were ushered to small seating area with limited choice No bar - was told if we wanted a drink they would make it and bring it to us Staff crashed into room one afternoon then left A soulless depressing hotel with no atmosphere Nowhere near a 5 star and couldn’t wait to leave
