Lighthouse Lodge & Cottages
3.7/5101 Reviews
Because Carmel's accommodation options are too expensive, I want to say that I chose the lighthouse in the next town. Unexpectedly great! The room looks much bigger than the photos and the facilities are very thoughtful and complete. The fireplace is really nice and warm! !! 17 days in the United States, this is the best and favorite accommodation ~ In addition to the buffet, there is another menu to choose from (there is no extra charge). Many choices are delicious. Most of the other guests are Americans who come for vacation. It's near the sea, and there are deer nearby, suitable for watching the sunset ~~
The Monarch Resort
3.9/5105 Reviews
This time, basically booked hotels with Trip.com on the American trip. Compared with priceline and booking and tripadviser, I found that Trip.com's quote is quite competitive and the information is basically accurate, including parking fees and whether there is meal waiting. I have rarely come back to comment before. This time, I will refer to the user comments here before I book my room. I feel that it is also about the point, so I plan to take some time to leave my personal feeling, although subjective, I hope to have a little reference. The Monarch Resort It is quite close to the entrance of 17 miles. The only hotel down the road gives a room to queen bed. If you change another room, you have to add money. If you mind, you must pay attention to this problem. The breakfast is small and the variety is monotonous. Of course, you can still eat if you don't pick it. The only bright spot was the real fireplace, fresh feeling.
Wave Street Inn
4.4/5100 Reviews
Location is key here, we walked to the aquarium, Cannery Row, we could have walked to Pacific Grove, and we walked the other direction all the way to the Coast Guard Pier…And we walked to Schooners for dinner. Parking is $17 directly under the building, with just enough spaces for hotel guests, there’s one small elevator that services the entire inn, no breakfast/restaurant facility on site, no laundry, no coffee, but across the street is Wave Street Cafe which I highly recommend. Hope you get John when you check in, he’s professional (I had to call him a couple times before we even got there), knowledgeable, and probably the best innkeeper/check-in person we’ve come across, knew exactly what we needed. We stayed in the Wave Suite which is a 2-room suite, right next to the elevator. From the door you walk in to the first room which has 2 queens and the next room is the living room (with sofa bed) with bathroom, but there’s no door separating the living room from the bedroom. My husband had to do a zoom call late into the night because of the time difference and the kids and I were trying to sleep but we heard the entire call. I think the “family suite” has a door between the 2 rooms so that might be a better choice if you need a door separating you from the kids (for more privacy) or you from a noisy sleeper/zoom call etc. At night the outdoor fireplace pits are nice. In the morning at 4:30am we heard the trash(?) trucks beeping up the street and then down again, no fault of this hotel but bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper and you’re near the street, lot of street noise. When we stay in a new city, I like to walk around to get the vibe of the place, this place is definitely great for that, as everything “Monterey” is walkable.
Sunset Inn Pacific Grove
4.4/5104 Reviews
Stayed 2 nights in August ‘22 as part of a road trip from San Francisco to Cambria. Pacific Grove itself is lovely & the Sunset Inn didn’t disappoint! You may be lucky to see the deer walk through the neighbourhood. We were allocated the Happy Seagull room, very clean & adequate for our needs, always found a parking spot. Room included coffee maker, full size fridge & microwave. Breakfast is included in room rate, basic, but no complaints, the donuts were lovely! The best drinks machine I’ve seen for choice is situated in office & is available at any time, Rishi will help you & give suggestions on what’s good! Rishi the Manager greets you on arrival, he’s a character & loves a chat! He’s so passionate about the property & wants his guests to be comfortable & have the best experience. Thank you for recommending the Indian restaurant in Monterey, hopefully you may remember us! Would definitely recommend this property for a Highway 1 stop off as we did & would stay here again, thanks Rishi, maybe see you again!
Gosby House Inn, A Four Sisters Inn
4.5/5100 Reviews
The breakfast was very good, there were a lot of tricks, just a bit late, it was only 8:00. The location of the hotel is very good, it is very convenient to eat around, about 5 minutes to the beach. The house is beautiful and the facilities are good. Parking is a parking space on the road, and it is available when there is time. I booked $198 on Ctrip. I actually paid $203 in the store. I don't know why? In addition to the exchange rate fluctuation factor, it is nearly ¥100 more than the online one. Scenic spot, the price is a bit high.
Pacific Grove Inn
4/5102 Reviews
This is our family's go-to spot in Pacific Grove! We stay in the Deluxe Queen Suite which is a 3-room, 1.5 bathroom suite at the top floor of the Inn. It is amazingly affordable given 1) there's an ocean view, 2) the location is fantastic being in a quiet corner lot at the edge of downtown and a 10-min ish walk to Lover's Point beach and the amazing bike/running trail, 3) the space in this room in particular (haven't stayed in other rooms) is unbeatable -- a master bedroom and bath, a sitting room with a pullout couch that is perfect for our toddler, and what we call the kid's room with a twin bed and half bath. Plus, there are common areas that we use including a huge victorian style dining room, and living area with board games and a TV. There isn't a kitchen but guests can use the fridge and microwave. We like the contactless checkin - you're given a key code for the entry door and your room door and never have to interact with anyone, but they're available by phone if you need anything. Parking is free and easy. We love this charming Inn and have recommended it to many others over the past year when we first discovered it!
