Quality Inn Calera I-65 Exit 231

As a business owner of a self operating landscaping company, I have learned to recognize and appreciate quality customer service when I see it and ASHLEY, at the quality inn in Calera is the definition of Just that. I stopped by possibilities of having to rent a room due to issues with my vehicle. I know my phone is about to die as quick as I could ask to borrow a charger. She had already had one ready for me. She allowed me to let my phone charge, provide me a couple tools needed to check out the vehicle and lo and behold. I was on my way in less than 20 minutes. I really really appreciate Ashley taking the time to help me when she did not have to. After working a Longer shift than usual at my primary job I was tired and frustrated and she was able to shed a little light on the situation if you ever come across this Ashley, thank you so much and I saw all the kids… God did too! There were bugs, stains on the sheets, the water from the sink smelled like sewer water and the bed had me itching all night. Also it was 8:40 and they were already trying to come into my room. Never had such a bad experience at a hotel and I usually stay at a lot of hotels for work.

The staff was the only thing that was super nice about this hotel. Whoever owns this hotel should be ashamed. What a disaster area. Bloody Snot on the shower curtain on the Constantly RUNNING, not dripping＜ water spout in the tub. Had been running for quite some time, because the water had removed the porcelain finish in the tub. The toilet was stopped up. The white pillow cases weren’t white anymore. The air conditioning unit was not functioning properly, the humidity level in the room was unbearable. Huge rust/leak stains on the ceiling. Door did not seal when closed, Large gaps, needed new weather stripping. Would not have stayed there, but had no choice. No other hotel had any availabilities for that weekend.

The rooms were spotless. Yes, this hotel is older, but they are staying on top of the maintenance (they were replacing the exterior while we were there...pricey upgrade). Staff was nice and the breakfast met expectations (its your typical waffles and reheated items). They do allow smoking on the first floor...nasty...just make sure you book a 2nd floor nonsmoking room. Our room did not smell like smoke, so no issue there.
