Camino Verde B&B Monteverde Costa Rica ★★★
"I stayed alone, but the bed was large and the necessary and sufficient facilities were very comfortable. The view was good and I was able to enjoy the nature of Costa Rica up close. In addition to choosing from the 4 menus for breakfast, I was able to get fruits, cornflakes, coffee and juice freely. If I have the opportunity, I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you."
Monteverde Lodge ★★★★
"Lovely hotel. Good restaurant. Reception a little disconnected and felt ‘on your own’. Could be a superb hotel if they changed the guest policy from children age 8+ as infants and babies impacted on other guests due to the open plan hotel layout."
Tityra Lodge ★★
"We stayed in room Capuchino with great panoramic views. Very quiet location. Next door you can take El Trapiche Tour, if you have in interest in local coffee, chocolate and sugar production."
Hotel & Spa Poco a Poco - Costa Rica ★★★★
"The facilities were excellent, except for the price; otherwise, it was perfect. I only stayed one night. The food in the hotel restaurant was delicious, around $70-80 USD for two people. All the staff were very friendly. Drinks and towels were provided upon check-in, and the room and bathroom had aromatherapy. However, the door wasn't very soundproof, and it was very windy, especially at night. Since I only stayed one night, I didn't have time to check out the hotel's trail and swimming pool."
OutBox Inn ★★
"Very convenient to everything. It is right in the heart of the town and the staff will arrange a shuttle directly from the hostel to the entrance of the cloud forest preserve and also recommend other activities. The owner is from Israel and he also owns a wonderful restaurant, The Open Kitchen, next door. "
Valle Escondido Nature Reserve Hotel & Farm ★★
"Valle Escondido has a great view over the valley and good nature trains where you can spot animals and birds in their environment. The staff are very welcoming and helpful with nothing being too much bother. The restaurant serves home town produce however the menu dos not vary between lunch and dinner so staying there for a few days and eating at this restaurant can become repetitive/limited choices. Whilst nature takes and eco ethos takes front stage there are a few little things that could be improved to ale their offering better: - more comfortable seating areas - this would help guests relax and be bake to sit comfortably during days when it’s raining. There’s little spaces for this at present. - vary the menu between lunch and dinner - possibly add a swimming pool / jacuzzi to increase relaxation or enhance luxury - rooms above the gues shop and by the Landry could do with some modernising. Overall, this is a great hotel to stay at and the above enhancements could make it excellent. The location is quiet (nature is the only thing making noises!) and it’s easy to get a taxi ordered into town costing some USD 6. If asking the reception to organise the cloud forest tour please note this does not include pick up from hotel and a taxi there will likely cost USD 20). Hotel staff were amazing. Thank you for a great stay and memorable views."

Cabañas la Pradera
"Small, family run cabin style accommodations, that were quiet and well stocked for a short or longer stay. We had a family cabin that could have slept at least 8, and we found it quite spacious. It’s not luxurious, but clean and all you need. The pool was very refreshing. A great location to go to Santa Elena to wander, or do the cloud forest adventures"
El Sol Monteverde
"El SOL is the best place on earth! Javier has the best recommendations and he makes sure that everything is simply perfect for all his guests. He took care of many reservations for all our activities and thanks to him, our family of 5 had the time of our life! He can arrange for dinners in our room and even a couple massage to maximize the beautiful view that we have from our room. I would recommend 100% this hotel for couple or family travelling. Thank you for everything Javier, everything was perfect!"
Rancho de Lelo Ecolodge
Senda Monteverde Hotel Member of the Cayuga Collection
"1. The hotel is located in a scenic location with a large customized area. A lot of animals can be met without leaving the hotel or even a room 2. Very unusual rooms-like dating houses. Comfortably and romantic, all conveniences. 3. Staff Attention and Care 4. Aguti Park chic entrance ticket is available at the hotel reception 5. Very good restaurant, the right food 6. Excellent massage 7. The infinite star sky above the head"
Cala Lodge
Ficus Sunset Suites
El Establo Mountain Hotel
"The room was fully equipped with other facilities and the view was unbeatable. If you want to lie in the room and watch the sunrise, you can close your eyes and go in. The only downside was that the shower water was a bit cold. I wanted to soak and relax, but the water started to get cold before I could even fill the tub."
Monteverde Romantic Cabañas 5Minutes Mtv Park
"Amazing tree house lodging on the edge of Monteverde! Beautiful, half mile walk into town along the main road. Wildlife, birds and monkeys visited us at the cabin. We watched fireflies at night from the covered hot tub on the porch. The owners were excellent at communicating, prompt with breakfast delivery and helped us arrange for transportation and reservations for nearby reserve tours and an overnight trip to La Fortuna to take a cooking class with a local Costa Rican family, see sloths and red eye tree frogs, and take a dip in the hot springs. We can’t recommend this lodging enough!!"
Jaguarundi Jungle Lodge - Monteverde
Hotel Montaña Monteverde
"Don't listen to the negative doom merchants. We had a two night stay here on our tour of Costa Rica. We loved it. All staff were really friendly and welcoming. Yes the room was basic but clean and comfortable. What more does one need. Happy hour in the bar was popular, Pina Colada was amazing. Breakfast was good. Food was great quality, hot and plentiful. Short walk into town for some good restaurants and gift shops. Thanks to everyone there who made our stay so memorable. We loved it."
Casa Jungle Monteverde B&B
Hotel Don Taco
"Well located, good amenities, small but functional, close enough to town. Breakfast could be improved."
Amalú Monteverde
"Hotel was a nice and clean place where they equipped with telescope, soaps etc. and all kinds of helpful kits. However when the hotel called local taxi for me the driver charged me doubled price vs. As it should be. Cannot say it’s hotel’s fault but the service experience is not great from that beginning. Loved owner’s attention to details at home but service can be better"
Bella Vista Lodge
"It was nice to have a cabin all to ourselves, a separate place away from others. It mad it more homey and relaxed. The view from on the hill is nice but it would be better if the cable lines blocked the view. Thankfully a short walk away is the scenic overlook which has several people there at sunset. Jose', the owner, was very helpful with anything we needed. Johnny on the spot. They were able to do our laundry on short notice for a price. The kitchen is well stocked although we only used the coffee maker and refrigerator. They use electric device for the shower which took a few times to get used to how it works. Pay attention when he explains it. The water won't get hot only warm. There was an extra room off the kitchen with a sink and much larger counter for getting ready. The room had a huge area to store luggage and dress in. My husband spent quite a bit of time in the morning in the gazebo reading and drinking his coffee. It's a large gathering area to mingle and watch the sunset. We stayed there for about 8 days so we really got a feel for the area. There were three really good restaurants within walking distance. Tinco's, 506, and Tramonti. Improvements would be to add a lamp in the sleeping area. The overhead lights are a bit harsh and there were two large dogs that would sometimes back late into the night sometimes 10-11:30 PM. At what, who knows. Beware, Montiverde is very windy, wind gusts 27-32 mph. It will sound like there's a big storm at night but you open the drapes in the morning and it's nice and sunny."
Cabinas Capulin & Farm
"The cabins have basic amenities and are furnished with comfortable beds and a shower room, the shower is great, the best we have had on our travels in CR. There’s no air conditioning or hair dryer but the mountain breeze is cooling and this was not a problem for us. It is a beautiful tranquil place, and the sunset view is stunning."
