Preliminarily, nothing happened that was terrible. It just didn’t live up to the reviews. In advance of our stay, I received an email offering a junior suite upgrade if I wanted to pay $210. Given current pricing, this wasn’t really a deal and had I needed this I would have booked it. It was also not great because I have status with bonvoy and typically enjoy complimentary upgrades. This just means the hotel could upgrade me but was instead trying to profit. I did receive a slightly larger room according to the front desk. I was also asked if I wanted any gifts and if this was a special occasion. Again fine, but seemed a bit profit driven particularly since nothing else I said seemed to matter. I noted that this was our babymoon and was offered a pregnancy pillow which was nice. Alas, the special pillow I was emailed about wasn’t in the room and no one seemed to know it was a special occasion. We called down and it was sent up. It is great that the hotel has this. Eventually we received some cut fruit, a nice note, and water. I recognize that we are not entitled to anything, but the other reviews seemed to indicate that the hotel goes above and beyond. None of that happened for us. On the bright side, the rooms are beautiful and the housekeeping is outstanding. The bed is very comfortable. Everything you need is there in the room and it was very clean. Wi-fi was hit or miss. It frequently cut out for us which wasn’t great. We thought the other hotels we stayed at on the trip did a better job of making this a special occasion. This hotel is fine for business (hopefully Wi-Fi is more consistent) it just didn’t live up to the expectation. It’s a very pricey hotel and needs some extra oomph to justify the expense. Others have seen it, but we didn’t.

This hotel was advertised as a fine and luxurious resort by American Express. It came with $100 hôtel credit and free breakfast. I have to say the the people working at the hotel were great and very kind. The room was very nice as well. When I checked in , I was told that I could only use the credit toward the parking and the room mini bar because everything in the hotel was closed . This was a family trip , there isn’t much I can use in the mini bar. The restaurant was closed The bar was closed The gym was closed The boutique was closed Also, since the restaurant was closed, the free inclusive breakfast consisted of a boxed continental breakfast where you could not select anything . This was not very popular with my kids. We came back to our room after the fireworks and noticed the room hadn’t cooled . I called the front desk and they told me that the AC hadn’t been working properly in a few days . They kindly offered a fan which I accepted considering it was 75 in the room. They returned 15 minutes later with no fan because there were none available . We barely slept that night. All of these items should have been disclosed of before booking or before arrival. I would have booked another hotel had I known. The AC situation should have been disclosed of upon check in considering it had been going on for a few days. For us, this experience was very disappointing.

Renaissance Montreal Downtown Hotel

On arrival just after 3pm, our room was ready and as Bonvoy Platinum members we had the option of points or morning breakfast during the stay. We chose Breaky! Breakfast is a menu made to order fare in the East Asian Asiatique restaurant just off the hotel lobby and was a gastric delight and one of the highlights of our weekend stay. The hallways to the room are concernedly dark and a flashlight is a necessary appliance in order to correctly find room numbers – A design flaw or part of the eclectic experience? Our appointed one-bedroom suite was designed and furnished in a pleasant funky design, similar to the rest of the property. It did take a bit of time and the skill set of an engineer to figure out what wall light switches operated what and how to operate the lighting appliances themselves. At night with all the lights on the room was quite dim in keeping with the needed seeing eye dog darkened hallway ambience. Included in the room was a handy mini fridge along with a capsule coffee maker a much appreciated and necessary evil for early morning coffee fixes! Unfortunately, the first night the HVAC heating and A/C unit along with a neighboring unit banged and clunked loudly at the beginning and end of each of the constantly repeating winter heating cycles which made for a very sleepless night. The second front staff person we spoke to eventually moved us to a another much quieter suite the next morning and the manager Florian followed up a few hours later to ensure our comfort and satisfaction was now acceptable! We are always appreciative when a property is proactive in first recognizing an avoidable detrimental occurrence and then acts genuinely to make it right for the guest – We give the property, staffs and management high marks for their efforts! The location of the property is another highlight of any stay here – Shopping and restaurants are just a few blocks or less away. China town is another one kilometer short walk and The old Port is a bit longer walk but very doable in good weather. We look forward to a future stay and wish to thank the management and staffs for their contribution to the success of our special weekend away in Montreal – Cheers!

Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile

The hotel is very good, easy to downtown, shopping shopping, because of bad weather, could not find a convenient surrounding small supermarket, so it feels there is some inconvenience. Because we booked a room without breakfast, ordering in a restaurant to eat breakfast, very good, a little expensive. Overall feeling good
Omni Mont-Royal Hotel

The Omni Mont-Royal Hotel is a perfect hotel in Montreal. Excellent montain view and quiet environment. I think I will back to stay this hotel next vacation. Love this hotel, so write a review. The location is in the central area, but it's backed by mountains and it's quiet. Suitable for non-upstart vacationers, you can climb nearby. The natural scenery of Tianhe Mountain is out of the window. I stayed for five nights and climbed twice. There are many restaurants near the hotel, about 15 minutes walking distance from Chinatown. Hotel service is good, French-speaking Montrealers are generally polite (speakers who speak Chinese loudly on the street will of course be blind-eyed), everything in the hotel is free and the staff is polite, I like this holiday environment . The hotel arranged a nice room for me, thank you very much!
Le St-Martin Hotel Centre-Ville – Hotel Particulier

Overall a pretty disappointing stay. The rooms are small. They have an odd set up with blinds that open up to the bathroom but are controlled by the person in the bedroom. There is no view to look at and they do not act as ventilation so I can think of no reason for them. The pool is very small and was not heated to a point where we were comfortable using it. We tried to order room service for breakfast and were told they didn't do room service. Front desk people were friendly but a little slow. Considering what I paid for the room and what I got in exchange it was poor value. Many other hotels that would have suited my needs better. One saving grace is it's location which is close to the Metro and many attractions.

Honeyrose Hotel, Montreal, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Found hotel through searches on TripAdvisor and Google Maps. Took a chance booking our 4 night Montreal getaway from NYC on a newly opened hotel. The reviews were great, as was the hotel location. And I vibed with the hotel decor from the photos I saw during my research. So we went for it. And we were happy with our stay. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the hotel’s friendly and courteous front desk staff. They were so helpful throughout our stay. Our king bed suite with city view was fantastic. Really cool room layout and decor. Bed was super comfortable. Nice touch with the bench at the foot of the bed. And the floor length curtains by the windows and separating the bedroom from bathroom were room darkening and so easy to open and close. We most loved how the tv swiveled around from living room to bedroom allowing us to watch tv in different room settings. Very cool concept. Shower was fun and funky enclosed in a pink ombré cube and visible within the room We enjoyed use of the gym, indoor pool, hot tub and sauna on 15th floor. The views were spectacular. Areas to improve….but to me, not worth a deduction: - Poor lighting in living room and bedroom. No option to independently turn on/off bedside lamps or lighting in the foyer. It was all or nothing. And although there was a full length mirror in the foyer, the lighting wasn’t great. - Bathroom mirror was fantastic but the lighting was horrible. - Sofa hard. Could have been less “IKEA” and more plush and cozy. A blanket would have been nice touch too for snuggling. - When the door of the room safe located on the top shelf inside the closet was open, it kept banging into and scraping the inside closet door.

The environment is OK, in the city center, 18 kilometers from the airport and more than 1 kilometers from the railway station When I got there, I just caught up with the elevator and broke down The service is very good. When it rains, there will be a waiter with an umbrella standing at the door to take you into the car The breakfast variety is a bit small, but the bread is very fresh and delicious. The girl who served smiled very sweetly. After I ordered hot milk on the first day, when I got there the next day, the girl asked immediately and needed hot milk. Well, the sense of distance is gone all at once, it feels good The door of the room is a bit thin and not soundproof. Fortunately, foreigners can pass by in the corridor quietly during sleeping hours. There is only one lock in the room, which is a bit insecure for the Chinese; mineral water is not provided in the room. But there is a hot pot, as long as there is it, we Chinese will not be afraid
