A brilliant spot. Stayed for a long weekend with some friends. Incredibly welcoming staff, a great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant, with the locals stopping by regularly for a quick family drink. Great food in the restaurant with friendly staff. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the pool by the river was brilliant plus. Highly recommend for friends, family or couples looking for a peaceful weekend away. The motor racing heritage is a real plus if you like your cars, but is quite subtle if you don’t. Lots of local vineyards to explore as well as having the Loire Valley nearby. Lac de Sille is 20 mins away with a lakeside beach and water sports.

The main attraction of this Hotel is its historic links to motorsport, in particular the Le Mans 24 Hour. If that's your thing, it's a great place to stay and within easy reach of Le Mans. As for the Hotel itself, its styled very traditionally which is in keeping with the history it has. The staff is a bit of a mixed bag, some staff were very helpful, whereas others didn't seem to be very interested and quite miserable. The food in the restaurant is reasonable, if a little expensive. The restaurant across the road has a similar menu, but we found the food to be better there, at less cost and with better service. The breakfast, however, is poor. Some mornings, we were given half a cup of coffee and some of the food ran out. Not worth the €15.50 charged for it. Overall its a nice place, but some things could be improved.

What a wonderful home from home, great location, wonderful staff and outstanding food. Don’t hesitate, there is so much to see and do and the history of the hotel is fascinating. Regardless of whether you are interested in motor racing it is a must! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we will be back!

We needed somewhere to break a trip from Carcassonne to the Chunnel, and looked for somewhere not too grand around Le Mans. This looked fun from its website and it more than lived up to expectations. We had a comfortable suite in the annex, and ate both dinner and breakfast in the hotel, both of which were excellent as was the local red wine. Both we and our dog were made welcome by charming young staff and there were fields for him to stretch his legs in down by the river. Charming little town, which hasn’t been hollowed out by chain retailers. The hotel is full of motor racing memorabilia if that’s your thing; it’s used as a base by some of the Le Mans race teams, apparently. Very good value. We paid less than 500 euros all in, including dinner, breakfast and a lot of the red wine, but that may go up a bit in high season.

We have been to this hotel 4 times in total, as we find it is a great location to stop when travelling further south in France. The rooms are clean and well appointed, the rooms at the top of the building do get warm in the summer. The bar is great, although they do set breakfast up rather early so if it’s cooler on the terrace outside you end up a bit stuck. The fixed price menu is great, food is well cooked and if high quality. Service is also professional. The only downside is they could offer a slightly more reasonably priced breakfast, if you are maxing out on the food on offer it is not too bad, but a buffet at €15 a head when the bakery over the road will sell you croissants and pain au chocolat at €1.20 a go is pushing it a bit.

2nd trip here and again a wonderful stay. The hotel is an amazing time warp with lots of memorabilia from the 1950 and 1960s and comfortable clean bedrooms reflecting this. Had dinner in the restaurant which although was quite formal, was beautifully cooked food presented well. Will be back again!

Unfortunately our review is 3 star due to the standard of the room. As soon as we walked in the room (room no.4) there was a very unpleasant musky smell of damp. The bathroom was also very dated. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size. However we ended up buying some scented candles to help with the smell. We asked to move but no other rooms that were suitable were available. The rest of the experience was great though, friendly staff, lovely restaurant, food and swimming pool. Would have been nice if the management gave us a gesture of goodwill and either offered a reduction on room rate or offered free breakfast. At the end of the day we have spent good money on a room that we don’t expect to smell the way it did
