We spent 3 nights here in August and enjoyed our stay in a Queen deluxe room in the courtyard. While the room is an older style it was very clean and very comfortable. We had everything we needed. The location is very central with easy access to the Main Street and right on the Heritage Trail Walk which we enjoyed. Excellent value for money and we hope to return to Wallaroo and stay again soon.

The Sonbern is located close to the main drag, pubs, cafes and a small shopping centre. The beach and jetty are within walking distance. The room was very reasonably priced. It had excellent amenities such as a microwave, toaster, free WiFi, effective air-conditioning and heating, cutlery. A lovely touch was the personal products of shampoo, conditioner and shower cap. Biscuits were replaced every day. Outside facilities included 2 BBQ and seating, washing line/clothes hoist. Each room had its own table and chairs outside so you had somewhere to sit. A most enjoyable stay. Have booked again for a January visit.

Sonbern lodge is centrally located with shops and restaurants virtually at your door. The lodge provides a variety of accommodation. The main building is around 100 years of age and whilst having some modern touches does show its age. There are a number of rooms off the courtyard and whilst not being large are comfortable and well equipped. There are also 2 cottages. Prices are quite reasonable.

Wallaroo accommodation can be spendy . but this place was the cheapest at time.. easy check in.and friendly.. bit old but clean. Rooms same old but clean.. good TV, and reverse cycle air conditioning. Bed bit old but I slept well.. I had Room next to the road. Lucky it was very quite in town.. better to book a room off the road.. Bathroom was fairly modern, but on just .. and just big enough.. good for a budget hotel

The Sonbern is quite an old fashioned establishment but it functions perfectly to ensure a most pleasurable stay. Both the dated exterior and interior combine to provide a cosy motel experience. The hotel is family run and guests needs carefully attended too. Extremely clean rooms with good pressure hot and cold water. There's a refrigerator and microwave over as well as tea/coffee making facilities. It's placed within walking distance to good eateries and shopping areas. It has a small, neat terrace garden area with gas barbie facility. On site parking for guests. An excellent motel!
