"We spent two nights at Safari Moon Lodge in Hoedspruit and absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic, the staff are extremely friendly, and our room was beautiful. The food was outstanding and the pool was a real highlight — not only great for relaxing, but also offering amazing views with wild animals coming right up to the area. Overall, we were delighted with our stay. Everything was wonderful and we can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable experience."

Phelwana Game Lodge

"In our 3 weeks round Kruger Park, Phelwana Lodge was easily the most charming place we stayed. The main dining room is in the tradition of round houses –- high-ceilinged, exposed beams –- nineteenth-century-style lodge furniture, African shields and crafts. Room. We had initially tried to book a tent, but, as it turned out, we were quite happy to be in a Villa, which was very spacious, again very stylish interesting furniture. The chef is really very good. Fresh baked pastries and bread in the morning, three course a la carte menu at night, good vegetarian options. Staff and guides very helpful and knowledgable. Phelwana has resident hippos, giraffes, wildebeest, various kinds of antelope, mongoose, a visiting leopard, ond so on. The guided tour round the property is well worthwhile. If you wish to visit Kruger Park as well, the nearest gate is about 45 mins drive."

"We stayed for a day here, but definitely should have stayed more time! Our host was great, did everything to help us have the best stay possible! The room that we stayed is absolutely beautiful and modern, and was a few meters away from a beautiful wildlife reserve. We had an incredible time walking around the reserve and seeing the animals from up close! Our stay here set the tone for the rest of our safari trip! "

"I was extremely disappointed with the reception I received. When I arrived, the man at reception did not greet me with a smile or even a friendly manner. He bearly glanced at me, gave me a paper to complete my details, and ignored me from there. The lady showed me my room and gave me n slip with the Wi-Fi password. They did not provide any details about breakfast or if and where it is available, even though you pay for bed and breakfast. The room, even though beautiful, only had a ceiling fan in the seating area and nothing near the bed, and it was extremely hot. No windows to open, only a door leading to the veranda. I will not stay there again"
