A pleasant stay at the Bell Inn, great for any LoTR fans. The outside can be slightly noisy with pub goers, but not for long. The walls are thin so you hear everything in the kitchen but if you're a deep sleeper then you'll be fine! Great location and breakfast, friendly staff and owner. Bed was a little too soft for my liking but comfortable. Room gets very cold quick, so you have to request to have the heating on.

Staying for the week in Morton In Marsh so following recommendations decided to sample The Bell. Ordered drinks 1 & 1/2 pints of Guinness and was charged £11.20 which I felt was very much picking up inflating the prices for the location and of course the Tolkien links. I questioned it with the staff serving, but was told all was correct. Disappointing ! Would have eaten here as food looked good and prices for food reasonable, but decided to take our custom elsewhere on this occasion.

Given the most unfriendly welcome from woman at the bar. Asked if it was ok to take a table to eat and response was as if I’d asked the most stupid question possible. Fair enough , she might have been having a bad day but definitely not worth giving money to. One to avoid.

We were complaining about the terrible, rude service until the food came, giving us something new to complain about. The most bland, poorly cooked meal I’ve ever had in a restaurant. At least it wasn’t expensive. The server seemed quite put out having to wait on people. Odd, because every other restaurant in town was an absolute delight.

Stayed in Moreton-in-Marsh for a few nights on the campsite in between Christmas and New Year. Called in here for a pint one afternoon. Busy but managed to find a table. Really friendly staff and a good choice of real ales and ciders. Went back a few days later for a Sunday roast. VERY expensive @ £19.95 per head. It was good, but nothing special for that price. Other half declined the roast and had ham, egg and chips (were supposed to be chunky but they weren't). Again nothing to right home about. Shame really because it's a nice pub with great staff.

Such a friendly and fantastic place to stay! The room was spacious, homely and clean. The breakfast was well cooked and presented……staff were friendly and accommodating. The pub downstairs was traditional and welcoming and I’d highly recommend staying here! Many thanks I’ll be back xx

Comfortable, friendly and good value in the Cotswolds. A small inn with 5 modern rooms with all the amenities. As a bonus, this inn was visited by the author J.R.R.Tolkien and was an inspiration to his writings as stated on a plaque at the front door. Our room had very comfortable beds and lovely linens, modern bathroom with a walk in shower. The rooms are located in a quiet location right off the garden and not close to the pub section to give you a good night sleep. The town is a sleepy town so most of those coming to this pub are locals and come in for a pint or 2 and therefore I don't believe you would have worries of rowdy crowds to interrupt your sleep. The complimentary hot English breakfast they serve in the morning was so delicious and kept you going all day. Homemade jams and breads, yogurt, cereals, fresh fruit in addition to the hot breakfast items. We arrived on a Sunday and had reserved a table for Sunday roast. We had a lovely table set and ready for our arrival. The meal was so delicious and was huge! (We could have shared one). Highly recommend their roast. The owner, John, is very friendly, as are his staff. and it was a great place to end your day in the pub before settling down for the night in a beautiful room. I can highly recommend this inn, their staff and the location.
