Very difficult to find then get in. It took a phone call for the hosts to come and open the gate and be told there was no parking and we had to drive round to a square two streets away. The house is faded grandeur and in need of some TLC. Our room was okay but a bit unusual. The en-suite bathroom was entered through the wardrobe! It was very dated, the toilet seat didn’t fit the toilet, the toiletries provided were a mish mash which looked as if they’d been left by previous occupants, there was no curtain at the large window. The high light of the trip was an amazing breakfast of local produce. We were glad we were only there for one night.

I get the sentiments of the positive reviews as this is a beautiful old mansion and an amazing place to stay, however, day to day upkeep is a real issue. Arthur is a lovely host but needs to get a grip with cleanliness. We loved it for what it is but would struggle to return. A shame!!

The entrance is not signed, i have no idea why we were not warned, this is due to modern signs are not permitted in this historic area. Parking is in a large delapidated garage with a soil floor on the opposite side of the road - best described as a nightmare. No lift, winding staircase to our bedroom on first floor. You will either love it or loathe it. The 6' bed was comfortable, we had a lovely view of the garden and roofs. No TV, no wifi unstairs. Our bathroom contained a bath with a shower atttachment. Excellent French breakfast.

Depuis l'avis d'octobre 2017, peu de changement dans la suite Junior ! Inadmissible de proposer cet endroit pour dormir ! Poussiereux, saleté des vitres, rideaux, etc... 5 ans après !!! Les photos sur le site sont trompeuses !

En fait, nous ne pouvons pas parler du lieu, puisque nous avons eu un mail la veille de notre arrivée, en plein mois de juillet, nous informant que suite à un surbooking, nous ne pourrions pas y séjourner. Evidemment, le propriétaire a rejeté la faute sur *********** et eux ont rejeté la faute sur le propriétaire. Ce qui en fait nous importe peu. Nous avions reçu un message de confirmation au moment de notre reservation. Par contre, nous pouvons témoigner du manque total de tact, d empathie et d amabilité et du cynisme du propriétaire lorsque nous l avons eu au téléphone pour comprendre pourquoi notre réservation était annulée. "Vous pouvez dire tout le mal que vous voulez de ***********, je m en fiche" ; " vous pouvez toujours venir, je ne vous recevrai pas". Voici un joli échantillon de ses propos. Ni excuses, ni conseils. Alors, effectivement, son lieu est peut etre magnifique, mais ce monsieur s est conduit comme un goujat.
