Great lodge in a lovely location. Pool was brilliant. The resident Marabou Storks made this place really special! Also so hornbills and a lilac breasted roller

Kilimanjaro home base We stayed at Ameg Lodge before and after hiking Kilimanjaro and enjoyed the pool, grounds, and spacious rooms. The fitness centre was great for a quick workout and stretching before and after the hike. They stored our bags and took a detailed record of any valuables we left behind while on our hike. The restaurant was quite good, although it did take some time to get a meal even when it was relatively empty. Some staff weren’t as friendly as others. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return as it was safe and quiet.
