My wife and I stayed here for just one night to take advantage of some free Vline train vouchers, so, as our host told us,, we were not typical of most travellers arriving at the motel by car. We chose this place because the price was reasonable, previous reviews were good and the location was not far from the Vline coach terminal next to the Visitor Information Centre. Our Queen room was basic but clean, comfortable and well air-conditioned. There were good supplies of cutlery, crockery and snacks, together with a microwave and a toaster. Whilst not serving meals at the motel, our host told us of a cafe nearby. He was charming to chat to and kindly looked after our baggage for us in the free hours between checkout and our coach departure. All up, a very pleasant experience.

I am an objective evaluation. I think the hotel's service attitude is still very good. The room is not a building or a flat floor. The facilities are old, but not far from the blue lake h Russian cave. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the beach. I just stayed for one night, I think I can.

This room is very misleading as there is nothing grand about it at all. It's priced more than the standard room but has no balcony. What are we paying for? It is advertised as ”an exceptionally spacious suite and the most premium accommodation in Mt. Gambier.” The room isn't spacious at all but rather the space is wasted in a big bathroom, which doesn't even have a bath in the space. When we entered the room it appeared as though we had the wrong one as it was so unlike the website's description that we enquired at reception. They assured us that it was the grand room and when we asked for another room we were declined. Maybe it was full. I don't know but there was no attempt by staff to amend the situation. There is one comfy chair. Where is the other person supposed to sit? There is a small table for eating with only one chair. Where is the other person supposed to sit? The website mentions large double door robes. No. Just one. The room isn't very soundproofed so unfortunately we could hear next door through the night. Parking should be just outside the room but as it is not clearly marked, we returned from dinner to find other guests had parked in front as they were staying in the corner and their parking was opposite instead. Challenging because we had multiple bags from an extensive trip. To summarise, don't bother with a grand room because it definitely isn't.

We arrived on one of the hottet days in Feb about 39 degrees , our room was airconditioned and working before we enterred, thats good service from the staff and manager. cannot fault the location and price and would definately stay there again

High on a hill, this property is good value. Our room had a very comfortable bed, good sofa, long desk with chairs, microwave and toaster. The water was steaming hot and the WiFi was good. Parking is immediately outside the units and we had a lovely view over Mt Gambier from our room. We didn’t use the communal kitchen but I did take a quick look. Very well set up with a full stove and all the equipment you could want. There is a full size dining table as well. The motel is quiet and within a short drive of the Umpherston Sinkhole, Engelbrecht Cave and the Blue Lake. We would definitely stay again.

After coming to Melbourne from Melbourne to visit the Great Ocean Road, most people choose to return to Melbourne. We choose to drive all the way to Mount Gambier. There are blue lakes and cave gardens in Gambier. Because there are few tourists in the spring, the hotel stays. Not much. Every room in the hotel has its own parking space, don't worry, the room is relatively large, and the face of the road will not be very noisy. From the town center and the Blue Lake, the cave hotel is about 5-10 minutes drive, eat and There are a lot of gas stations in the town center, and it is convenient to choose this hotel by car.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Colhurst House, a beautiful and charming accommodation conveniently situated near Mount Gambier's city center. The location proved to be ideal, within walking distance of various shops and restaurants. The room itself was pleasant and well-maintained, complete with the added perk of a tea and Nespresso coffee machine. While my overall experience was positive, I regretfully cannot award the hotel a perfect 5-star rating due to some issues encountered during the check-in process. After a long and tiring drive, the anticipation of a seamless check-in was dashed when we arrived and found no one at the reception desk. It turned out that the hotel had tried to contact me earlier, but since I had an international number, they were unable to reach me over the phone. A simple email or phone call (or whatapp number) with check in instructions would have alleviated this situation. Unfortunately, the situation escalated when my email to the hotel went unanswered for more than 30 minutes. Frustrated, I had no choice but to make an expensive international call, which eventually resolved the matter. Thankfully, a kind staff member promptly arrived to assist with the check-in process after the call. Another minor inconvenience was the absence of details regarding the Wi-Fi password in the room. A straightforward sign with this information would have resolved the issue without any hassle. Once again, I resorted to sending an email for the password but, disappointingly, received no response. This forced me to make another call, urgently requesting a reply to my email.

We arrived at this cabin park without a booking. The staff member checking us in was extremely helpful in finding the best available cabin for our circumstances. The cabins in this park are being progressively upgraded / renovated. Although the cabin we stayed in was unrenovated, it was very clean, spacious and comfortable, with all of the facilities we required (gas oven and cooktop, microwave, toaster, kettle, all cutlery, crockery and glassware). There was also cabin park laundry with new quality washing machines and dryers. Very reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Fabulous, room exceeded expectation and amazing how quiet seeing new year party was on with hotel closing at 3am. Highly reccomend, central location. I never write reviews but room was clean, comfortable and service from senior staff was exceptional. We will definitely stay here again. Be mindful stairs to access rooms however not many. I could see the towns new year fire works from our room.

This is a wonderful boutique luxury option for a stay in Mt Gambier. Located about a 5–10-minute walk to the centre of town, this is a heritage property that has been renovated and furnished to a high standard. The common areas are beautiful – gorgeous dining room and full size billiards room! The high quality linens, fluffy towels and bathrobes, beautiful mini bar and glassware are thoughtful touches that make this a luxe stay. We stayed in the Hay Suite which had a bedroom with a large flat screen TV and a small lounge with a gas fireplace. These were connected by a spacious well-equipped bathroom. The space didn’t work that well for us because we are on a long road trip with lot of luggage, but this is a lovely option for a weekend treat!

What an amazing place to stay. We stayed in the Policeman's Residence and found it to be a great balance of modern while keeping historical aspects of the place. The view to the old cells just outside our kitchen window was a great addition. The place is spacious and very clean. The beds are so comfortable (I need to track down those mattresses for myself!) and the hosts Emma and Grant are extremely friendly. A very special place and we can't wait to get back down there to try the Post Office Apartment. Highly recommended :)

Last year we had an evening meal here and, due to having to drive an hour or so home on country roads I chose not to drink any wine. So this year we stayed overnight and had a fabulous time. When they said a Premier King, they meant 'Premier'; the room was huge with a fantastic bed and large ensuite. Check in was easy and once we had settled into our room it was a nice walk back to reception and into the Piano Bar to enjoy the ambiance over a cocktail before going in to the restaurant for dinner. I had the special steak after confirming it was gluten free (I am coeliac and need to avoid gluten at all costs). The staff were very helpful and clearly understood my needs and I enjoyed one of the best steaks I've eaten in years; it melted in my mouth. I also had a desert (gluten free of course) and really enjoyed the wine (a local Pino Noir), not needing to worry about safe driving. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast in the 'Engine Room' and again my Gluten Free requirement was carefully looked after. I have no doubt we will be doing this again in the future.

There is one comfy chair. Where is the other person supposed to sit? There is a small table for eating with only one chair. Where is the other person supposed to sit? The website mentions large double door robes. No. Just one. The room isn't very soundproofed so unfortunately we could hear next door through the night. Parking should be just outside the room but as it is not clearly marked, we returned from dinner to find other guests had parked in front as they were staying in the corner and their parking was opposite instead. Challenging because we had multiple bags from an extensive trip. To summarise, don't bother with a grand room because it definitely isn't.

He was charming to chat to and kindly looked after our baggage for us in the free hours between checkout and our coach departure. All up, a very pleasant experience.

This is a wonderful boutique luxury option for a stay in Mt Gambier. Located about a 5–10-minute walk to the centre of town, this is a heritage property that has been renovated and furnished to a high standard. The common areas are beautiful – gorgeous dining room and full size billiards room! The high quality linens, fluffy towels and bathrobes, beautiful mini bar and glassware are thoughtful touches that make this a luxe stay. We stayed in the Hay Suite which had a bedroom with a large flat screen TV and a small lounge with a gas fireplace. These were connected by a spacious well-equipped bathroom. The space didn’t work that well for us because we are on a long road trip with lot of luggage, but this is a lovely option for a weekend treat!

Last year we had an evening meal here and, due to having to drive an hour or so home on country roads I chose not to drink any wine. So this year we stayed overnight and had a fabulous time. When they said a Premier King, they meant 'Premier'; the room was huge with a fantastic bed and large ensuite. Check in was easy and once we had settled into our room it was a nice walk back to reception and into the Piano Bar to enjoy the ambiance over a cocktail before going in to the restaurant for dinner. I had the special steak after confirming it was gluten free (I am coeliac and need to avoid gluten at all costs). The staff were very helpful and clearly understood my needs and I enjoyed one of the best steaks I've eaten in years; it melted in my mouth. I also had a desert (gluten free of course) and really enjoyed the wine (a local Pino Noir), not needing to worry about safe driving. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast in the 'Engine Room' and again my Gluten Free requirement was carefully looked after. I have no doubt we will be doing this again in the future.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Colhurst House, a beautiful and charming accommodation conveniently situated near Mount Gambier's city center. The location proved to be ideal, within walking distance of various shops and restaurants. The room itself was pleasant and well-maintained, complete with the added perk of a tea and Nespresso coffee machine. While my overall experience was positive, I regretfully cannot award the hotel a perfect 5-star rating due to some issues encountered during the check-in process. After a long and tiring drive, the anticipation of a seamless check-in was dashed when we arrived and found no one at the reception desk. It turned out that the hotel had tried to contact me earlier, but since I had an international number, they were unable to reach me over the phone. A simple email or phone call (or whatapp number) with check in instructions would have alleviated this situation. Unfortunately, the situation escalated when my email to the hotel went unanswered for more than 30 minutes. Frustrated, I had no choice but to make an expensive international call, which eventually resolved the matter. Thankfully, a kind staff member promptly arrived to assist with the check-in process after the call. Another minor inconvenience was the absence of details regarding the Wi-Fi password in the room. A straightforward sign with this information would have resolved the issue without any hassle. Once again, I resorted to sending an email for the password but, disappointingly, received no response. This forced me to make another call, urgently requesting a reply to my email.
