When we checked in, the Bai aunt asked us what time would we have dinner? I thought I had to pay for the food, but the auntie said: ”You come here for breakfast and dinner, and we will prepare the dishes for you per person, otherwise it will be inconvenient for you to go out to find food in this village!” Why are B&Bs like this now? Considerate? The rice at dinner was particularly delicious, glutinous and fragrant. It was the best white rice I had eaten in Dali in several days! Auntie said this is Fengyu No. 4 white rice. She brought us egg tarts in the morning and left us some Basque cheese when we returned in the evening—all homemade, with just the right amount of sweetness. My mouth is watering now! Sitting on the swing in the courtyard, combined with Yunnan's pleasant weather, we cancelled our stay in Weishan and stayed another night. Beautiful hotsprings hotel. There are 6-7 pools, many of them private for public use on the 4th floor with nice views overlooking town and the mountains. You can make the pools as hot as you would like as there are separate hot/cold water taps to fill. There are also multiple tea/nap rooms. The breakfast was delicious and varied with warm milk for bedtime and in the morning. The host was very accommodating. A pleasant find in Niujie.
