I stayed there in the first week of July 2022 in room number 201. The room ceiling was broken. When I asked them, they said It's been like that for the last several months and it will not fall even though that was a huge safety issue. This room was just beside the lift and was making huge noise throughout the night. The pillows were not washed and they had several stains on them. They don't have a kitchen so you are dependent on outside food for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Overall, the location of the hotel is amazing but the hotel is in urgent need of a makeover. In its current conditions, it's not worth the amount they are charging. The checkout time is 11 am. When I wanted to extend it for an hour, they asked for Rs 1700 which was way more than what you pay at an airport lounge.

When a person comes to India, his life is unfamiliar and his language is not good enough to live in the hotel. At 5 am the next day, I need to go to Mumbai Airport to catch the plane. The front desk called me to get up at 4:30 and contacted me for a taxi. thank you very much!

Stayed in July, booked a studio for three friends. The hotel provided us with a quick check in and extra bed with additional charges. The room size is big and has separate living and resting areas. The cleaner was prompt and very dedicated to the work. He repeatedly enquired for any assistance and so did the bell boy. Facilities in the room includes kichen utensils, hob crockery and cutlery. Jaccuzi was too good. The place has a gym and a pool too but no restaurant so food is served in room. Only issue is that the approach road gets clogged in rain.

The Oriental Residency

This is a traditional Indian hotel: fully functional with all necessary modern facilities (walk-in bathroom with power shower, loo, extractor fan etc + toothbrush/paste; super-king bed; AC; etc) We chose a large room on the 2nd floor with private veranda; said to be a ‘smoking’ floor but we couldn’t smell anything !! Nothing glamorous, but comfortable and efficient. Most importantly, the hotel is located in the best possible spot for local living and suburban shopping (Linking/Turner road, Khar, Dardar) as well as within striking distance of Mumbai airport and central Mumbai (Taj hotel, Gateway-of-India, Crawford market, etc). The restaurant serves Indian breakfast (dosas, idlee/sambar, powa, purees etc) as well as some European (corn flakes, eggs any which way, etc) + lunch and dinner (with a variety of Indian dishes). Food / cooking is excellent; service is attentive and superb by the (***y) staff. All-in-all this is a great and reasonably-priced hotel……… real middle-class India. Special commendations to: Deepak on the front desk, ???? in Concierge, and all restaurant staff.
