The Shalimar Hotel, Kemps Corner

South Mumbai Mumbai|2.1km from Haji Ali Dargah
Had a lovely 2-night stay in the Shalimar Hotel as a solo traveler - booked one of the studio rooms. I appreciated the small details of the room like a clothesline in the shower (that could be retracted when not in use) and a hamper for dirty laundry. WiFi was fast. AC worked great, bed was comfortable. Breakfast is the same each day - a small buffet of sambar, idli, fresh fruit, pastries/toast, etc. - but tasty and filling, and you can order things like dosa. Hot water kettle with coffe/tea is available in the room. If you're arriving at night (I got in about 2:30 am), the main entrance isn't open - there's a pasty shop attached to the hotel, and this is where you enter (the guard on the driveway can show you where). Lobby will hold your suitcases for you for a few hours after checkout. Note they do NOT offer an airport shuttle, even though this is advertised on third-party sites like Chase Rewards bookings (but it's very easy to find, so a pre-paid taxi from airport works just as well). One note is that the hotel is also attached to a nightclub - even on the 7th floor, I could hear/feel the music at night on Friday and Saturday. This didn't affect my sleeping at all, but if you're sensitive to sound and staying on a weekend, bring earplugs. Probably a little pricey for what it was, but overall I had a very comfortable stay and would stay here again. The location is also ideal - lots of nearby South Mumbai attractions are walkable, and easy place to either flag down a taxi or do an Uber pickup.

The installations are very good ! As in the photos and the attention of the excellent people! They helped me with everything I needed and were always very friendly, I recommend it if you need a clean and safe space to arrive. Nitish Srivastava greeted me in the lobby and was even very friendly! Always ready to help

Unfortunately the hotel service is mediocre. The food in the hotel restaurant is totally disappointing, my girlfriend who is from finland makes Indian food much better than in the hotel, please don’t waste your time and money in that restaurant. The rooms are good and clean is something that cannot be taken away from the hotel.

Been staying at St Regis Mumbai every time we visit Mumbai for work. Location is incredible or in fact the best amongst all the hotels in Mumbai. Great service as usual. We used the business centre services as well as the coffee lounge for meetings… everything was smooth. However may I suggest to tone down the fragrance at the reception? It gets a bit too overbearing after a while :)

The breakfast which was included was above our expectations and the staff there were very friendly. There was also snacks available in the afternoon which was a nice touch as the food was very good. The location of the hotel was good for the south of Mumbai and only 35 mins from the airport in a car. If you have a lot of activities in the north I would maybe recommend against this hotel as there would be a lot of travelling. The door staff and bell boys were also very polite and would go out of their way to do things for you. Unfortunately the worst part of our experience was the reception staff who gave you the feeling of being a burden. A lot of requests and questions were met with short answers and not much of a smile. Lastly the layout of our room was strange with the bed in the centre of the room and next to the phone on the wall which you would knock off the handle if you moved in the night. Also the room was different to the pictures on the site.

We visited this hotel for some work at a nearby hospital during June, July and August. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel which was accompanied by warm and welcoming hotel staff. The owner himself, Mr. Deepak is very cordial and accommodated all our requests at a blink. We highly recommend this hotel to all those who are traveling to Mumbai anytime soon. 👍🏻
