Living Hotel Das Viktualienmarkt

We stayed here before Covid and it was really delightful and so well situated . We had a fantastic attic room . This time we had an attic room on the other side of the hotel and it was not great . The room is awkward in shape and your bed faces an angled wall - right up against it - and there is a tv up above your head on the sloped ceiling. Bizarre The bathroom has one flimsy standing towel type rack but no where to hang a hand towel or a wet towel or even a gown The shelf above the basin is so narrow you can not even put your vanity bag there and mine is teeny . Or even a small glass for toothpaste and your toothbrush . And to top it all off the water heating cylinder is in the cupboard behind the bed which is not sound proofed so through out the night you can hear it switching on an off like an engine . The staff were abrupt, unhelpful and dismissive to the point of it actually being rude . When we arrived the guy that checked us in helped us take one suitcase to the lift and then left mumbling something about the number for reception . Likewise they didn’t greet when you when out ; returned or checked out .

Stayed here over a week and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Staff - Probably the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff I've ever come across. The were always very accommodating whenever I asked for anything. Even the cleaning staff would greet me whenever I'd see them. Room - Modern, clean rooms. Bed was comfortable, pillows and linens fluffy. Desk space perfect for using your laptop. Radiator for heating. There is no air conditioning, but it wasn't hot when I was there, so that was never an issue. There was also a small refrigerator. Bathroom - Again, modern and clean. Only a shower, no bathtub. The only complaint I would have is the toilet paper felt a little like sandpaper, but not a major issue. Location - Very quiet, seemingly most residential neighbourhood, but still walkable to the main sights in Altstadt. Marienplatz was about a 15 minute walk, Karlzplatz another 15 on top of that. The Eisbach surfing and English Gardens were just a block or two away. Also very close to the Residenz. There is also a small grocery store nearby, as well as a few restaurants (including a good Vietnamese restaurant right next door). Other - The hotel does have an underground parking garage. It is very small and quite pricey, at 25 euros per day. There is also parking around the hotel for cheaper, but it can get busy too. There is an elevator, which was helpful for taking luggage to the upper floors. Bonus - If you don't require daily housekeeping, you get a free drink.

The hotel was very pleasant. The workers were hot bloody. The food was really nice. I understand that a separate concept is kitchen activity every day. Thanks for the helpfulness of the animator team and the smile face.

The location is very good, you can go to the surrounding attractions and walk around. It is the temporary parking location at the entrance of the hotel is very small, it is impossible to stop when there is a car. It is not very convenient to park the luggage first and then go to the parking lot. The hotel breakfast is good, the bread is delicious, great. The old 4 stars, the location is absolutely praise, the price is also the most expensive hotel in this trip, the right hand is to buy a cheap shop in the sun-wavy box, walk to the most prosperous famous street for about ten minutes, the facilities are a bit old, breakfast is more abundant Snacks and drinks in the small refrigerator of the room are all given, comprehensive satisfaction
Hotel an der Oper

Well, I didn't 'go' in October, but I tried to! I booked for one night through ***********, the hotel takes the money directly. The booking was confirmed by *********** having gone through the usual 2-factor Visa verification. The next day they emailed saying that the hotel had informed them my card was 'declined' and I needed to supply new card details. This worried me as I knew there the card was fine so I wasted an hour calling my bank - eventually I spoke to someone there who was able to tell me that the problem was that the hotel had tried to enter the details through a manual system, which does not meet the security requirements, and so the transaction could not be completed, my card was fine and had not been declined. I contacted the hotel by phone and told them this, they just said rudely that the problem was mine, and to change my card details at *********** or the booking would be cancelled. I did as asked, switching to Mastercard in the hope that the security issues would not be the same. All OK, till the following day when I was again informed that the card had been 'declined'. I contacted *********** as I was pretty cross by now, how can a hotel advertise on an on-line site if it can't process cards in the required way? The only suggestion was to try another card, but I don't have anything that's not MC or Visa, so I saw little point. The hotel then informed me my booking was cancelled. Now, I can't believe that this hotel is unable to process cards correctly, so what could the problem be? As I know my cards had ample credit, I'm left with 2 options, either they didn't like the implied ethnicity of my name, or they didn't like the price I got from *********** so didn't want to accept the booking. Either way, you can waste a great deal of time trying to book this hotel - and so I'd recommend against it. BTW, I travel frequently and have NEVER had a problem like this elsewhere.
Maximilian Munich Apartments & Hotel

We were in Munich for 7 days and stayed at the Maximilian Apartments and Hotel. We had a two bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment in the center of the city. You can’t beat this location. The apartments are top quality and very tastefully decorated. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended and will book them again on our next trip to Munich. It’s a 5 minute walk to Marienplatz and great museums. Surrounded by restaurants and bars and awesome shopping options. Lots of public transport options within a 5 minute walk.
