Gambino Hotel Werksviertel

So disappointed, it was much worse than I expected. Small and run-down. I thought it would be a clean hotel, just a bit out of the way, but it turned out to be a completely unreliable, lousy place. The pillows were lumpy and just collapsed when you rested your head on them. The towels looked dirty, not even white. The window only had a blackout curtain, no sheer curtain. There was no desk, just a small stool next to the bed. The wainscoting had stains. The shower pressure was weak and the water kept going hot and cold. There was absolutely no space to open a large suitcase. No fridge. I suspect the previous good reviews are fake. Also, the location wasn't as convenient as I thought. From the station, you have to walk to the very end of the platform, go up over a footbridge, and then walk along a road that's currently under construction. No matter where you want to go, you have to go to the East Station and take this route. Unless it's incredibly cheap, I really don't recommend booking it. The official photos are very misleading.

The hotel was clean and about a 5-minute walk from the East Station. If you do the online check-in, the process is very smooth.
