Rilano 24/7 Munich Hotel

Apart from the delicious breakfast, the hotel is not on my top list. The room is relatively comfortable, and the bathroom on the 24/7 side is very good and fully equipped. The point is that there is a supermarket next to it. You can buy delicious food except on Sundays. There is also dm, you can go to the side to pick up gifts when you return home. There are taxis at the door of the hotel and the transportation is very convenient, but it is more expensive to take a taxi in Munich. It is about 80 euros from the hotel to the airport. You can also use public transportation. There is a bus stop at the door. This is relatively close to the English Garden, so you can go for a walk.

The hotel is a fair way out of the city centre, however there is a tram located close by. There are a couple of shops and cafes within a 10-15 minute walk, other than this, there is not much close by. The hotel looks nice online, however the rooms are extremely dissapointing. The bed is massive, and yet the duvet and pillows look as if they belong on a single. The room itself was quite scruffy, with marks all over the walls, mould in the shower and an general odd odour. The toilet is seperate from the shower room, which is useful, however the door for both the shower room and toilet is shared. The toilet flusher kept getting jammed, resulting in constant running of water, this was fixed by trying to pull the flusher back level with the wall. The walls to the shower room, and the shared door are both made of glass, meaning that in the middle of the night the other person in the room is woken by the light coming from these rooms. The curtains do not fit the windown frame and are not blackout. Alot of light comes through both the curtain and round the sides. Online it states the room is soundproofed, this is not the case. The room was noisy and we could hear people outside and in the corridors. The bathroom includes a built in hair dryer, whcih looked like it was made in 1970. There were not enough plugs in the room and the mini fridge was not cold enough. There is a safe, which comes in handy for passports etc. The room also has a basic coffee machine, but we were only given two pods, after they were used, there was no more coffee in the room. We chose not to have breakfast as it was overpriced, especially when a short tram ride takes you to the centre of Munich, where lots of cafes offer much cheaper breakfast. The one positive about this hotel is the WIFI, its pretty good. We would not return.
Novotel Suites Muenchen Parkstadt Schwabing

Booked a room with a big bed + a sofa bed, you can sleep three people, but the three people feel a bit crowded, and we just live together. The dry and wet separation of the bathroom is not bad, the bathtub is also separated from the rain, and the water is quite big. There is also a microwave that can be used. The hotel is a little farther away. The train station takes about 15-20 minutes by subway and it takes ten minutes to get out. The surrounding area is quite quiet, and there is a small park between the residential area and the office building. There is a big supermarket out of the subway station.

First I was shocked and had no longer any wish to travel there. I had a question before and called directly at the hotel. On the phone was a very unfriendly staffer who was not really helpful and did not accept my problem. Well, yet went. On the ground I had absolute luck, the unfriendly staff from the phone appeared to have been free during my stay or was not visible on the front. What a pleasure! All the staff:who we met were super friendly and premature. Breakfast was top for the price. Of course, there should not be any caviar and champagne here, lax and such things were missing. There were delicious eggs, bacon, bread and breads and what you need from salt to sweet just like that. There were also various juices. The room was very clean and absolutely ok for the price. It is now possible to dispute whether or not you need these open baths or glass walls to bed. Here was at least a milk glass. If you share the room with a friend, something of privateness would be better for the bath. As couples it may be OK. But good, we've got it right. The location of the hotel is OK. You have a tram stop right in front of the door and is in a few minutes at the Munich freedom, here there are many ways to move to buses and rails. I would book the hotel again.

Still trying to figure out what the catch is because at c. £60 a night this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in, in terms of value for money. It's located north of the centre of Munich (short taxi journey) and around 25 minutes from the airport. Feels very new, modern and welcoming. A big lobby area where a complimentary breakfast is served and there is lots of seating for people who want to sit and do some work. Rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but more than does the job. Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying here and will definitely rebook next time I'm in Munich.
