Staying at the Shangri La Al Husn Muscat has been one of the highlights of our time in the Middle East. We decided to go for my girlfriends birthday and the team worked exceptionally well with me to deliver a unforgettable experience. Getting to the Shangri La was a bit of a challenge and taxis do not come cheap in Oman. Though it was not challenging I do wish there was a pickup/drop off option for the guests. The inclusive breakfast was wonderful and ordering off the menu assured that everything you ordered stayed fresh. There was a mixup with our order due to a language barrier but the food was still phenomenal. The in room breakfast and room service was a highlight as it allowed you to take full advantage of the room and with the inbuilt heaters in the dining table assured the food stayed hot. The value for money on in room dining was disappointing as an order of a burger and fries came with a small amount of fries, however that was fixed with our next order. The afternoon tea was delicious, highlights being the fromage and watermelon and the scones. Each afternoon tea was different and kept the palate excited. The happy hour beverages were also included and always came with a suprise canapé from the restaurant. In terms of the staycation, it was perfect. The interior and exterior of the hotel is beautiful and the sound of the ocean left you relaxed for the stay. I would like to raise that there was a lot of sealife by the beach which deterred us from swimming in the sea as we had heard a lot about the Omani coast and didn’t have much confidence in the beach patrol and lifeguards there. We noticed some playing on their phones but they were always happy to assist taking a picture for the two of us. I would suggest a more upfront approach when it comes to what you can expect in the sea there. A visitors lounge was also available allowing you to take full opportunity of the facilities till you left for your next adventure.

Al Husn hotel has a great location and all the staff are extremely friendly and attentative. However, breakfast time can be a little chaotic due to lack of staff and many tables are left uncleared causing delays for person coming in for breakfast.

This was our second stay at Shangri-La Al Husn and it felt like coming home. From the time we arrived, everything was seamless, warm, and genuinely personal, the kind of experience that keeps you coming back year after year. A grand thank you to Mostafa, the General Manager, whose leadership and attention to detail can be felt in every corner of the resort. He truly sets the tone for the exceptional hospitality here. Anne at the front desk was wonderful, professional, kind, and always eager to help. She made every interaction feel effortless. At the pool, Said was simply outstanding as always, attentive, cheerful, and incredibly thoughtful. He’s one of those people who makes every guest feel special. We also want to recognise Hardik, Pankaj, and Manu from the pool and dining areas. Their service, friendliness, and ability to anticipate what guests need made every moment relaxing and enjoyable. It’s rare to find a resort that combines true luxury with such warmth and consistency. Shangri La Al Husn isn’t just a place we stay, it’s a place that stays with us. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

I really like the place it was so Amazing. Staff were very welcoming (Omami Locals) from check in Fo Saira, Yousef and Angelica -FO. Said and Roshan(recreation) Everyone have excellent service.❤️

We’ve literally returned from a 7 night stay at the beautiful hotel a week ago and have already booked a return experience for November 2025! We told staff we would be back and the memories we’ve brought home with us and wonderful experience has made us leave a part of our hearts here at the Shangri-La Al Husn. The hotel is meticulously maintained, spotlessly clean and every member of staff you encounter go above and beyond to make your stay a fabulous experience! The service is excellent as is the quality of food in the Sultanna restaurant. We stayed on a B&B basis simply because I don’t generally consume 3 courses at dinner. Highly recommend the 32 hour cooked beef and the wonderful lamb shoulder which fell apart and like velvet to eat. Breakfast had a great selection and chef also came to ask if there was anything we wanted preparing to let him know! Wonderful. We used the chi spa at the neighbouring hotel purely because we wanted an Asian massage which the spa in our hotel didn’t offer and it was a great experience! We also visited the piano bar in that hotel which is open from midnight, tasteful interior and good selection of cocktails etc on offer. It was Ramadan during our stay and it didn’t affect us really although missed a little wine or beer at lunch time at the beach restaurant. Dress modestly and respectfully at this hotel and whilst out and about. You can wear a bikini at the beach or a swimsuit. Loved the idea of afternoon tea each day - we only sampled once and it was a first class experience only for me it was in the middle of the afternoon at 3.30 pm which if you’ve been in the beach or by the pool you needed to return to your room to shower and change to be respectful to others. Loved the pre dinner drinks and canapés, popular with all the guests, some music whilst enjoying or a band playing would be great only I believe this was not possible during Ramadan so looking forward to a different experience in November. Loved kayaking in the sea and also the cool box with water and juice and the tiny bottle of Evian spray to keep your face cool! The concierge assisted with booking a driver to take us to the mosque and we also enjoyed the boat trip to see dolphins, highly recommend - go for the early trip. Simply perfect, stunning location so pleased we are returning in a few months, cannot wait and am hopeful the hotel will grant our request for the same room please 1364.

We spent a few nights in the Al Husn recently, and loved the experience. While you are some distance from Muscat, the location is excellent, with one of the more impressive looking beach locations I have seen, which also happened to be really good for swimming (gently shelving, sandy, moderate seas). The hotel building, decor, and pool all looked good quality and well looked after. The rooms were also a really good size, and were again well maintained, as well as being kept spotlessly clean. All in all, a really nice place to relax for a few days. The standout feature of the place, however, was the staff. The hotel clearly did a great job of recruiting staff with good people skills, and then training them to a very high level. We found them to be friendly, attentive, polite and professional, without exception. The fact that every staff member, whatever their role, would greet every guest in the corridor, every time, was typical of the quality of the guest experience. The hotel clearly had an unwritten rule that anything the guest wanted to do was allowed (unless explicitly forbidden), and every request would be met with a helpful and positive response, regardless of how unusual or odd it might be. We felt that we were in good hands at all times, and it added to the overall feeling of relaxation and calm. We also felt a degree of personal connection with some of the staff, which is not common in an hotel. If we had to highlight one thing which could do with a little attention, it would be the evening meal experience. We ate both in the Al-Husn's own restaurant, and in several of the other ones across the complex. We had one or two excellent meals, but others were not quite to the same standard, with some minor issues with the food quality or service. To be clear, we never had a bad, or even average, meal - everything was good, or excellent. However, when everything else was excellent or outstanding, 'good' did, unfortunately, tend to stick out. (I would hasten to add that this did not apply the breakfast in the Al-Husn. The choice, food quality, and service there was exceptional - one of the best breakfast offers I have come across). However, these comments are minor compared to the overall experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Al-Husn, and definitely intend to go back in future. Very highly recommended.

Just back from a 4 day break in Oman staying at the Shangri-la Al Bandar hotel. We had a lovely time and could not fault the facilities, catering and outstanding hospitality from all the staff from pool attendants, housekeeping , restaurant staff and management. The attention felt very personal, staff remembering we were there with our son who had flown in from Dubai. We were made to feel welcome . The food was delicious at all the restaurants we tried . I also noticed how welcoming the teams were with younger children too. We tried out the fitness centre and visited the car museum, both great. Lazy river was a hit with adults as well as children ( old and young!). I would highly reccomend.

If you're visiting Muscat and not staying at Shangri-La Al Husn, you're truly missing out. This resort is nothing short of exceptional — from the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. Every single staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. A special mention to the incredible team at *Mahhara Beach* – they were super accommodating, friendly, and genuinely helpful. We can’t thank them enough for their incredible hospitality. They truly made our beach days extra special. We were fortunate to stay in one of the suite rooms, and it was absolutely to die for. The views of the sunset from our room were simply breathtaking – something we'll never forget. And as if that wasn't magical enough, we were lucky to witness the *release of turtle hatchlings* during our stay – a once-in-a-lifetime experience that added a beautiful touch to our trip.

We had a wonderful holiday at Shangri La Husn and thought the food and service we received at the restaurants was without exception outstanding. We would particularly like to mention Michaela (Capri), Ei (Bait al Bahr) and Nim (Sultanah/Aperative) who were all very kind and went out of their way to look after us. We would also like to mention our room attendant (Sachin) who serviced our room exceptionally well twice a day and always ensured he came at times when we were out so as not to disturb us. His towel art was also exceptional! Many thanks

What a wonderful place to stay .rooms spacious and very well appointed, queen size bed very comfortable, bathroom huge and spotless with an array of local lotions shampoo and conditioner. Room cleaned and turned down daily with the minibar restocked. All staff were the friendliest I have ever experienced. The restaurants we used were high end and the wine list was adequate. All in all a very nice place to spend a week , will return next year .
