This is my 2nd stay here. 1st time topped this time around. Lovely views but too many room service knocks at the door and terrible wait staff service. Anytime I would signal I needed a service from a waiter, after having to signal for a long time, they, strangely but surely, would automatically would ask another waiter to come serve me. Had I not paid for my full stay, I would have moved hotels.

Malaika Beach Resort is a more of a money oriented resort... first they charge entrance fee on weekends even in evening time, and entrance fee is not claimed on the bill. This is not right. if entrace fee is charged then must be claimed in the bill. On 18th August 2024 they had a Beer Show at the garden near the entrace we could not bear the BEATS and SOUNDS, we couldnt finish our drinks and had to leave. Imagine the residents who pay $150++ per room with these noise.

My family, including 2 children, stayed at this hotel before leaving on safari. We arrived at 10PM to music with very loud bass playing (the kind you can feel all through your body). At 3:30AM, after unsuccessfully trying to block it out with noice canceling headphones, we called the front desk to ask what time the music would stop playing. The music was so loud we could not hear the person speaking on the phone and had to ask them to talk louder. They informed us that the music stops playing at 7AM. We voiced our disappointment and they said they would ask it to be turned down, but it wasn’t. We were not informed about the all night music when booking or when checking in. Had we known we would have stayed somewhere else as it led to a very rough start to the safari.

We had a business trips with friends! We define that Malaika is the best hotel in the northern Tanzania especially around lake Victoria!! Here we have treated as kings all our wish was absolutely met! I had love their cousin local African dish with mixed up Indian very yammy cousin! Have you tried tilapia fish in local styles of cooking they called it (MAKANGE) please tried it with fried banana trust me you will love it! Thank you Malaika teams, we will definitely choose this hotel and I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL FOR EVERYONE ONE want to visit Mwanza just don’t look for anywhere booking directly malaika hotel it’s the best one. See you again.

Had trouble sleeping with local ban bagging bongo drums just outside my window. The staff were disgracefully rude, kept discussing me in their local language knowing full well I did not understand a word! Spa was flooded with water and mosies

I had a relaxing stay at this hotel. The views are out of this world. Their breakfast buffet is top-tier and comprehensive with complimentary champagne. Their meals whether buffet or ala carte are fairly priced and so are their drinks. The staff at the restaurant are professional, welcoming, and very helpful whatever training they have undergone needs to be replicated across all the staff. The rooms all have a view of the lake and have a reasonably stocked minibar. The bed is large and you get a comfortable night's sleep. The rooms are spacious and have A.C. and the bathrooms are large and have all the toiletries you need. The hotel has a nightclub which is awesome. For the best experience visit in on Sunday, Saturday night works too. The Views! The Views! Well-manicured grounds, an infinity pool the list is endless. The only feedback I would like to give for purposes of service improvement is that; 1. On the day of check-in, the guy who took me to my room was not too keen on showing me around the room/ was too casual, and had a weird attitude which was unfortunate and unwelcoming. 2. A professional approach when verifying whether guests are residents when accessing resident-only areas is needed. I was being asked "Who have you come to see here" - in an undermining tone by the staff at the pool as well as in the evenings when getting my key from the reception possibly because I was a solo lady traveler or didn't fit whatever pre-conceived model guest the staff had in their minds or are used to here. This was rather insulting and unwelcoming and I consistently made sure I carried my room key with me to avoid embarrassment. Solo lady travellers do exist and they should not be subjected to bias. 3. During my checkout one of the front desk personnel solicited a tip, it was masked in a lot of consistent incoherent jokes but was really solicitation, which made me so uncomfortable, I would have tipped anyway despite not having the best experience with the non-restaurant staff throughout my stay as I have stated. I found this to be unprofessional for a hotel of this caliber and as a guest, I felt pressurized/cornered. Overall, I would still visit again as the pros outweigh the cons and I really did enjoy my stay here and did not let the few unfortunate experiences overshadow my stay.

we got there after four days safari. we were really looking forward to sleep and relax. But after we told them the window does 't close properly and they promised to fix - but nothing has happend. So in the Resort there was a party till 5 o'clock. We didn't slept much and got up in the morning awfully tired. The next morning the staff was aware of our bad night and expressed that they are sorry for this. But there was no offer for compensation. While dinner i ordered a lassi. our waiter was delayed, so i got it when we were already back on our room. allinall i cannot recommend malaika, for that price/category they just do a bad job.
