It was way better than we expected according to the reviews. East wing indeed is the newest one: our room has all the facilities, it was spacious, clean and has fantastic view from the balcony. Meals were in traditional Japanese style, so might not be to everyone's liking, but we enjoyed all of them. I wasn't able to go to the onsen (as I have several big tattoes), but my husband liked an open one! Also, even though it is not listed in the hotel's description, but they do provide a parking if you come by your own car (as we did), which was very helpful, considering remoteness of location. All in all it was great experience, and not costly at all! Just one small remark: I do not eat meat and was concerned about parking, so I tried to contact the hotel in advance via Trip.com first and then their e-mail (listed on the web-site) to clarify those things... with zero success. I don't know if the reason was that I wrote in English and they barely speak it, but eventually I didn't get any response at all. Other than that really nothing to complain about!

The place has nice onsen pools with a good sea view. They let us change the check in date which was very helpful. It’d been better if the booking time for breakfast and dinner was informed before the arrival so guests could plan better for meals as the location is around 20 minutes walk from the railway station and restaurants.

Highly recommended. Good private location, superb service, big indoor and outdoor onsen, superb view and exceptional service. I stayed during end of Nov. 24. The hotel is value for money indeed. The room is definitely not 17m as it s indicated. It s very spacious with great private sea bay view. I stayed during end here one night and stayed at KAMENOI hotel another night. I truly prefer warmth atmosphere here. The outdoor onsen here is certainly better as well! If I go to Katsuura again, I will definitely stay here.

Clean and comfortable hotel on the ocean side. About 15min from Katsuura on foot. The onsen is nice and clean, breakfast is japanese style and tasty. The rooms are japanese style also, tastefully decorated. We visited the fish market and had dinner in town and then walked to the hotel.

Amazing outdoor onsen, the overall amenity is a bit and outdated though!

A resort hotel with a distinctly Japanese feel. From breakfast to the oceanfront buildings, the location is a bit remote. The hotel is behind several tunnels, so driving or taxis are recommended. The walk will take you through a subway tunnel and a space where deer gather. It feels a bit unspoiled, and the streetlights are dim at night, so those traveling alone or those who are afraid of the dark may need to exercise caution.

The price-performance ratio is really high, including two breakfasts and two nights, the average price is 1500 yuan per person. The hotel is very old, and you have to go through three short tunnels. The third tunnel is darker, and the other two are brighter. It takes 18 minutes to walk from the train station. The hotel has a car that can take you to the train station in the morning. The hotel sink is really low, probably because it is an old hotel. It is the first time I have seen such a restaurant. You need to turn on the heating and air conditioning in the evening of early April, because the sea is visible when you open the window. It is very cold at night. The Shirahama bus can use IC cards.

The hotel has a shuttle bus to the station. It is very convenient to drive by yourself. It is a very cost-effective hotel in the surrounding area. Of course, if you are not short of money, I recommend the Urashima Hotel. It is a good hotel for the Kumano Kodo because it is cheap and has a good breakfast.

The sanitation is not good, absolutely not! Do not stay here! Really not! The worst room in Urashima is better than this

I booked it for the driver, and he said he was very satisfied with the breakfast, the hot springs and the comfort. Basically, the people who go there are locals. It is a Japanese-style hot spring hotel with a very high cost performance.

The breakfast was delicious and the futon was comfortable and helped me relieve the fatigue of the day.

The location of the hotel is relatively remote, so don’t be misled by other guests’ reviews. You can walk 1.4 kilometers from the station to the hotel 😓 It actually takes a long time to walk, and you have to go through 3 tunnels, especially the one near the hotel... The sun was so strong at noon, and there were no lights in the tunnel. It was so dark that I couldn't see my fingers. It was quite scary. However, the hotel staff were very nice and enthusiastic, and most of them were elderly uncles. The room is very old, like it was built during the Showa period. There is no way to check in before 3pm. However, the open-air hot spring is very good, surrounded by mountains and sea on three sides, and the indoor hot spring is extremely hot... I checked in at the end of November and almost fainted in it. If you want to go to the station, the hotel has a free bus to take guests from 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning, so be sure to plan the time in advance. The hotel's breakfast is quite rich. If you are not particularly picky about taste, you can still eat it!

The hotel has a quiet and clean environment, with an open-air bath facing the ocean, planted with pine trees, and a high level of privacy. The kaiseki cuisine is exquisite and delicious, and the waiters are courteous and attentive. It is only a two-and-a-half-minute drive from a supermarket and Katsuura fishing port. It is also 20 minutes away from various scenic spots in Mt. Nachi. Just a short drive away. Worth recommending to everyone.
